This is a fantastic location right on the beautiful beachfront of Jungut Batu with calming tasteful decor throughout the grounds. Day beds and sun beds on the beach and by the 2 pools with a calming vibe throughout however the ambiance is distinctly lacking & feels soulless.
The breakfast staff in the restaurant seem subdued and unhappy & it’s difficult to get a smile or any kind of interaction which is very unusual in Bali a place where everyone is smiley & friendly. The service is very slow (even though there were only ever 2-3 tables occupied) waiting forever to be acknowledged, then waiting again to order, then to be told 3 times they don’t have what you ordered, then getting the food before the drinks - there really is no excuse for this service (or lack of) in a supposedly 4 star hotel where you are paying above the odds! As for service on the beach beds this is non existent!! I was also quite surprised for a french run restaurant to run out of the only red wine served by the glass at dinner I would expect to be offered an alternative at least - especially when you’re paying LONDON prices in Bali! The breakfast is not worth the money which was disappointing as the lunch food was fantastic! Don’t pay the extra per night for the breakfast included again it’s WAY overpriced for what it is and there as SO many lovely other places cheaper and better. The garden room was again decorated to a tasteful high standard however the amenities didn’t match the hotel rating! The garden felt more like sitting in a grey cell with locks not working properly & old sachets of Nescafé for the complimentary room drinks & cheap ineffectual travel hairdryer in the bathroom drawer. I wouldn’t normally comment on such things but given the cost of this hotel (& the fact it was our most expensive all trip) I feel it’s worth mentioning as it’s more what you would expect in a travel lodge than an expensive boutique hotel! The pool areas are nicely decorated but again soulless! This has the potential to be a great place but it is overpriced for what it is and how it’s run!
The decor & facilities were absolutely beautiful! The rooms are beautiful! Delicious food & the location was the best!
The thoroughfare next to the rooms can be a bit noisy when guests & motorbikes pass by! Although the breakfast was delicious, I think a buffet style breakfast would be better suited to guests being able to select exactly what they want to eat! There was a lot of wastage as the breakfast arrives all at the same time! Other than this we loved our stay!!
Excellent excellent food!- especially the deserts, large comfortable room size, lounge area was amazing.
Nothing to do with the hotel, but the beach was full of sea weed so didn’t feel hyped up to swim.
The food was good but a lot out of stock not leaving much choice. Friendly staff.
Room was unclean Bathroom was very dirty Toilet disgusting!
The place is beautiful (only good thing about this place)
The service was horrible. I have stayed in places on the island for 19 dollars a night and had a way better experience. Staff was not helpful, check in was pitiful (they started helping another person before I was done talking - gave zero information). They laughed at us multiple times when we asked for things, such as room service at 4pm because it was too close to dinner service (then hung up the phone) and when we tried to book a table for dinner. restaurant staff and service was awful (restaurant very expensive for Bali) Not worth the high price tag. Go and take a picture, spend your money somewhere else. Also, they no longer have a French chef so their “French restaurant” is false advertising.
