I loved the tent and the location. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Marco made a point of remembering our names and every staff member was very attentive to our needs. The stay was five star on all levels.
Only one thing that I am really sorry to mention because I just loved the place: the bed was very hard
Erongo Wilderness Lodge is a gorgeous place set amongst the boulders. Some of the tents are more private than others so if this is important to you, do ask. The staff were very accommodating before arrival and whilst there. We had tent 6, which has an amazing sunset view, but this came at a price being the furthest from the facilities, but it was definitely worth it. The surrounding area is teaming with wildlife and dassies are everywhere. Unfortunately we were unable to take part in any guided walks, but we spoke to a guide one night and he was very knowledgeable. Our one night stay was not enough.
The only small thing was the food wasn't to my taste and despite informing the lodge in advance that I only ate chicken or fish, this wasn't remembered. It was however dealt satisfactorily with when mentioned.
located in a breathtaking corner of the country, surrounded by impressive rock formations...we strongly recommend to join the guided walks in the evening (sunset walk) and in the morning... from time to time you can spot wildlife (antipopes, baboons, birds etc) ... very good food and a great choice of wines...staff is very helpful and attentive ...dinner on the terrace under the starry sky will always be remembered ...among the shades around the small pool you will “survive” the hottest hours of the day..the luxury “tents” are spacious, well equipped and super clean....the last 300 meters of the road to the lodge are a bit challenging but definitely doable (4x4 may help)... alternatively you can use the shuttle service ..due to very limited wifi reception you can disconnect yourself from the rest of the world and fully enjoy the here and now..we loved it
Mattresses need replacement - their lifespan is over (in tent 1). Couch on deck is broken. Compared to Erindi (Old Traders Lodge) where we stayed prior to this visit we paid more per night at Erongo Wilderness Lodge whilst getting less value.
The wonderful landscape and organised walks
Not enough to do for s 4 night stay - if there had been more walks or a bigger swimming pool .. I was pleased I had plenty of books to read.
