Le Meridien is nice, but I wouldn't go back.
The staff is great and they all paid my daughter tons of attention. They made us feel really welcome.
The hotel is nowhere near anything, so you can't walk to shopping or a restaurant. Your only choice in Mauritius is taxis (or a bus) but Le Meridien has their own taxis and set their own rates which are almost double the market price. The restaurants in the hotel and the drinks (if you didn't get the all-inclusive package) are exhorbitantly priced. 420 MUR for a cocktail, sheesh.
Le Méridien Ile Maurice stands at the edge of 800 metres of sparkling ivory sands on the coast of Mauritius in the bay of Pointe Aux Piments of the Indian Ocean. Lush gardens create the perfect atmosphere for a romantic idyll or a serene getaway. A day of water sports or relaxation on the beach may be made complete by a visit to the hotel's spa or its magnificent swimming pool, all in view of a breathtaking beachfront and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The guest rooms and suites offer stunning views of the ocean and mountains. The Nirvana rooms, all perched at the edge of the tranquil lagoon, offer a private heated infinity pool and a personal terrace that overlooks luxuriant tropical foliage.
