Helpful, friendly staff. Hotel is in a great central location, walk to many things or take a cab from outside Sao Bento train station right around the corner. Parking on site for a charge, they park and retrieve car for you. Unusual and stunning hotel decor; some reviewers complain it is too dark, but we thought it had a warm, romantic aura; we were upgraded to a beautiful, huge room on 6th floor. Very fancy and spacious bathroom design. Very nice and accommodating waitress in the lounge area where we had drinks and appetizers in the evening. Excellent breakfast in restaurant.
They should explain how the tub/shower combination works - at first you panic because it seems to be overflowing, but it is just a different type of draining system. All else really nice.
Breakfast was good.
One of the hotel staff had used my credit card to pay for some one else’s accommodation. Was not picked up by hotel until I had arrived to question it. Took 10 days to get my money back. People need to check their bank statements to make sure there is only one payment taken out for accommodation. This should not have happened.
Great location for walking to the center. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Huge selection at breakfast buffet, especially compared to my other stops in Portugal.
Over-designed bathroom looks cool, I suppose, but usability not great and the stand-up shower leaks water all over the floor. Also not enough places to hang wet things, especially after you’ve wasted a towel on mopping up after your shower.
Nice hotel, great location, good security. Storming rain shower! :) Bus 500 stop just outside. Great local info from reception staff. Helpful room service.
Rooms very dark. Did not like the see-through, sliding glass door to the toilet. Door didn’t even completely close. Not enough privacy.
