10.0 Excellent
Pros: fantastic gourmet breakfast..... different every day nice surprise
Cons: a little out of my reach financially but well worth the extra
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are super nice and helpful. The only restaurant in the hotel is the best in Zihuatanejo. The food is soooooooo good!!!!! You can not miss it!!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing View , Amazing Infinity Swimingpool!!!
Cons: Very very Bad Wifi
5.0 Okay
Pros: The layout of the restaurant is beautiful with pretty pools and interesting decor. The view is stunning although the view from most hillside properties in Zihua have incredible views with the comforts of a hotel.
Cons: This place is a restaurant with four rooms for rent. The set up of tables, chairs etc. begins around 1:00 PM daily. The area around the pool is not available for lounging in the early evening/sunset. It is set for diners. We were not informed of this at any point during our stay. Our discomfort drove us to our room and three days short of our intended stay, to other accommodations! The room did not have the typical comforts of a hotel that charges the amount they do. The bed was uncomfortable. Even the slightest movement made the bed bounce and jiggle. There's no coffee or tea making facilities and no refrigerator.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning, exceeded ALL expectations. We slept with the a/c off at night and opened the 12 x8 sliding doors with screens that looked down on Zihuatanejo Bay listening to surf all night. Waking up to that view was priceless.
Cons: I felt like we were in a luxury private million dollar villa. Most days had the entire property and pool to ourselves. Max only 6 other guests. We stayed in the Roberta suite and enjoyed the large patio with amazing view .

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting on the best beach in Zi.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room and staff were excellent, pools were nice and the beach and lounging area was more than we expected. We asked for a later check out and even though our room was booked they managed to extend our check out time. With out a doubt this was the nicest place to stay.
Cons: On the other hand drinks and food were very expensive. ( about $40.00 for a hamburger and $13.00 for a cocktail Cdn) There were no coffee machines in the room so if you like that morning Java, you will have to go find it or have room service bring it. I was told that they used to bring a pot of coffee to each room in the morning but new management cut that out. When you talk to the bar tenders and waiters they all tell you the biggest complaint they hear is food and drink prices as they have no customers.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great pools, but no loungers at pool. Also has no area around the pool if you want shade. They really need lounge chairs, like most other properties have.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The large size of the property allows for a lot of privacy in the common areas, pools and beachfront.
Cons: The excessive pricing of the food and drink services chases guests to the significantly better values provided by alternatives in the area making restaurants at the hotel empty. Wine list way overpriced for selection offered.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, beautiful views, very friendly staff, quiet and romantic place. Welcome drink with little tour. Great maintained property. Rooms very spacious, bed extremely comfy. If i go there again, i would def. pick up this hotel.
Cons: Food is a little overpriced. Restaurant staff needs more proper training in waiting tables. My husband reserved a romantic dinner on the beach, which was basically set up the table and chairs that was already there! Light some candles, and its ready. They charged us $25 for that! I found that distastful. Especially that they told us about that charge after he made that reservation. Like, it was so obvious they want to squeeze you for some extra bucks.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this property was fantastic. The staff were exceptional. Better than any cruise ship we have been on. Despite the negative comments we will return.
Cons: Consumables were too expensive on this property. Our suite has a step in the middle of the room between the bed and the bathroom. Very dangerous for the middle of the night trip to the bathroom.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful- it’s greenery around us just stunning Staff is friendly and willing to help If you need recommendation for dinner you must speak to Oscar at the front desk - he made reservation for my husband and I - and all the place he sent us was 5 start If you need fishing trip , snorkeling etc - you must speak to Ventura - it knowledgeable and a local If you stay at the adult pool staff is great about checking in on you for drinks or food
Cons: The wine list was a little off - they could do better in that area Dinner is selecting is the same that they use for lunch , that could do some updating on the menus
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location !
Cons: pricey for drinks and food !
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and update of the property was perfect for Zihuatanejo. The updated hotel was very comfortable and clean. Our Lagoon Suite had an amazing view and very spacious terrace with a plunge pool. The bar area with swings and sitting areas was very inviting. Amazing sunset views from here too.
Cons: The staff was hit or miss, some very friendly and others rather dry. We were scammed by the activities people and charged $20 dollars extra for an activity (1/3 more than regular price). The food and drink is very expensive for what you get. Not comparable to dining options outside the hotel. A hamburger $30 after service fee! The black walls in the hotel rooms darken the rooms and give the impression that they were trying to go with a Vegas look, which in my opinion doesn’t work for a nice beach resort.

Pros: Everything at Solana Boutique was great....the hospitality, the breakfast, the rooms and terraces, with fantastic views over the bay. The property was lovingly built and maintained, you could tell Sriram and Melissa took great pride in their place. Thanks again for a great stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: -Beautiful location with stunning views -immaculate rooms & property -amazingly friendly & accommodating owners & staff -Nina's food & margaritas are the best in Zihua!!!
Cons: I was only unhappy about having to say "adios."
6.8 Good
Pros: Spacious room Pleasant staff
Cons: High incline to get into the property with no stairs just a steep driveway Response from owners when pointed this out was bizarre "You take a risk coming to Mexico"!!!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, quiet, the staff were wonderful.
Cons: Lighting not optimum in the room. Though the beside lamps are cute, they don't lend themselves to do adequate reading.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners could not have been more gracious. The facilities were first rate and immaculate. The staff very attentive and responsive to all our needs.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, quiet, relaxing boutique hotel with only 7 rooms. Spectacular views from the suite & palapa deck; great food reasonably priced at the bar for lunches or light dinners. Good breakfast with coffee, fruit juices, muffins, cereals plus hot food daily which alternated between Mexican and North American fare. Fridge by the pool was always stocked with beer, wine, mineral water & sodas etc. -again at reasonable prices. Best margaritas at the bar -we tried a few places but none compared with Casa Solana! Our hosts and staff were warm & welcoming.
Cons: A taxi ride was necessary to get to and from town and the local beaches, as road was hilly and very dark with few lights at night. There is a local bus but not every one goes all the way up to the top of the hill. We were there two weeks so taking a taxi every time we went somewhere was a bit of an inconvenience and added expense.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Was all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience from check in to breakfast was exceptional. This is a gem of a place and the owners are so attentive and personable, plus they are so knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
Cons: Nada.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Anita was wonderful. Accommodations and location was ideal for us and our interest in the beach. Pool area was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Friendly service.... so very quiet! Needed hot water for a shower please!
Cons: Bed was pretty hard and small rooms but if you didn’t need much space it was great for two adults looking for quiet time and near the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so kind, and went beyond expectations to make our stay comfortable. The bed was amazing, and the architecture of the building was really neat. There was ac and a fridge in our room, and they provided a bottle of water complimentary each day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: La Villa Luz is a charming boutique hotel. The staff are very friendly and always available to ensure that your needs are being met. The breakfast, although simple, is adequate and served on a balcony with a stunning view of the ocean. This most certainly sets the tone for the day! The location of La Villa Luz is excellent as it is within a 100 meters of the taxi station and approximately 300 meters from the ocean. There are some lovely restaurants within walking distance. This is most definitely a hotel to return to.
Cons: There was a mix-up in the room we were given. The manager therefore reduced the cost of the room and has promised an excellent return rate for us.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A very simple breakfast was served, juice, coffee, toast, yoghurt, all this is served up with an Amazing view! Very quiet area, 5 minutes to the beach, nice pool. We got to keep our room for a few extra hours due to our flight not leaving until 18.00 which was great!
Cons: I think that the towels in the bathroom where very small, maybe ok for a Child but not adults, abit old and faded as well.
7.5 Good
Pros: The cleanliness
Cons: There is active construction right next store - it was literally right outside my window. It was too bad; it really impacted our stay and I think the owner should inform guests that there is active construction so that guests can decide what to do. I only go on vacation once a year. The construction work was not acceptable. Additionally, the traffic right outside our "other" window was very loud; six wheel trucks were SO loud SO early.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quite a unique place. Really cute. Clean. Good location. Breakfast was fun because with only about 5 suites everyone gathered together at breakfast time and the conversation was lively. In the afternoon some met around the pool which was really nice too.
Cons: It was a bit too quiet for us however if you like quiet this would be a great place to stay. Breakfast was ok but if you wanted hot items you had to pay for them.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable fresh fruit pastry coffee each day Plenty to enjoy in Zihuatanejo the weather was good but muggy , But really whats not to like
Cons: Only that the weather was muggt
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, wonderful staff !!!

With a stay at Bungalows La Madera in Zihuatanejo (Colonia La Madera), you'll be steps from Zihuatanejo Bay and La Madera Beach.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, right on Madera beach, just steps from town. We loved the pool and the full kitchen in our room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff, location, patio, spacious unit and surroundings were all great
Cons: Bed very firm, sleeping was difficult
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful, although my Spanish isn’t very good and their English isn’t great but we managed. People who stayed there were friendly and shared information about the area. Great place for a vacation.
Cons: Would have liked more supplies in kitchen. However we just borrowed from neighbours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room
Cons: Excellent location. Close to the beach, Bahia and downtown. Would stay again and the staff is very friendly and help you with everything you need. The view from our room was wonderful. Would stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Leaving this place was really difficult. It was more then we expected and we are sure we will be back here in the future. Our first impression was that the personel asked us if we wanted to take a look at some more bungalows then the one that we had booked - they offered us to stay in a lovely bungalow with seaview, jacuzzi, fantastic spacies and atmosphere for the same price as our "booked" ackommodation. Every morning we cooked and enjoyed breakfast with the most beautiful view one can have from a terass. The location was amazing with only a 2 min walk to the beach. The stuff was truly helpful and lovely. This place really is something special.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Walking distance to beach which had restaurants. Within walking distance of main Zihuatenejo market. Great location!
Cons: No dislikes
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location location location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. There was a lots of space to hang in store clothing. I really enjoyed it be open air living space.
Cons: A bit dusty on shelves and on top of doorways
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from the main pool and the upper deck was phenomenal!...It was almost as good from our deck...(just a few more palm trees in the way but no real complaints) Also, the walk to the beach (through a secured and private resort gate) took mere seconds where several good beach side restaurants were available.
Cons: Maybe a little less chlorine in the jacuzzi that was on our deck...after about 5 minutes my eyes and skin were irritated (and it's not because I got any water in my eyes...I never "dunked" my head below the water)
6.8 Good
Pros: The ocean view, proximity to everything and friendly staff.
Cons: Photos on the internet were deceiving, leading us to believe it was much nicer.

5.5 Okay
Pros: Location AND if you have children, this is the place to be. It’s a kids cruise on the beach. Repeat, it’s a kids cruise ship that is on the beach.
Cons: 1) paying $250 USD A NIGHT or a room that had cockroaches in the hot tube 2) waiting 2 hrs to get into our rooms after checking in after the check in time 3) being survived frozen bad food when you are literally on the water and can see fishing boats. The food was so bad we didn’t eat it, we sent it back and went into town for street tacos that were a lot cheaper and so much better 4) the paint job was not very good. We had primer all over our deck that we paid extra for.
7.5 Good
Cons: Too many kids yelling late at night
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Accomodations, beach, view, buffet.
Cons: Noise, crowded pools, dinner only by reservation.

6.8 Good
Pros: breakfast was ok
Cons: the distances from rooms to beach and swimming pools
7.5 Good
Pros: Private beach and different pools, the view from the rooms are gorgeous
Cons: A lot of people at the pool and overall in the hotel. Hotel need some renovations! Always a lot of queue at the reception, concierge ( lady) was not very helpful and not representative of a 5 starts hotel. Service in the mexican restaurant downstairs was not very good, I wanted a la carte breakfast and not buffet and they were Ll lost by that... it was my second time at las brisas, first time 4 years ago was nicer
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice beach. Good service
Cons: AC broken, no cold air, blew in cogarette smoke every day
6.8 Good
Pros: The Views. private and quiet. private beach. Restaurant was OK...

Cons: Very old building, need repairs. Very crowded.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location - beautiful views, excellent service and staff and pool.
Cons: The food selection is ok, could be better. Also we had a room on 19th floor, one floor above lobby and the loud music at night could easily be heard in our room - on 2 out of 5 nights, lasting after 10 pm.

Pros: Absolutely amazing view! Very spacious suite, helpful staff and great location...especially for folks who enjoy open air and lots of exercise!
Cons: Lots of construction noise....but that wasn't the fault of the hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: The view is the best at this hotel.
Cons: It is a little far to town and no food.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from my room and balcony was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful, the place is kept amazingly clean. Overall, this is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your time in Zihuatanejo.
Cons: I didn’t realize how far of a hike it would be by foot to the downtown/beach area. Very steep uphill so be prepared for a workout coming home!
5.8 Okay
Pros: We liked the view from the balcony
Cons: The location, while good for the views, is quite far from the two best beaches and is very difficult to get to by car and on foot with small kids.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I really loved the view, the size and the amenities. It was only a short walk to town. This side of the bay seems more for local tourists, though there were some gringos around as well. A/C was cold, kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom all good!
Cons: The power went out on the whole side of the bay for about 6 hours, but we just asked for a candle and had a romantic time. We also went down to Casa Bahia just down the stairs and had a fantastic and romantic dinner at Roberto's restaurant.
7.4 Good
Pros: The view was insane and the price was great
Cons: dirty sheets, uncomfortable bed, gross bathtub

Cons: Eating situation is frustrating. Dinner is not served after 4pm. Restaurants a walk down the beach close at 6pm. A ways from anything(store/bars)
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location, great for families, staff was lovely and nice big rooms
Cons: No wifi, no dinner being served
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved that the staff was so friendly! I asked for extra pillows and fresh new water in my jacuzzi tub and they said "absolutely no problem" and had it ready in minutes!
Cons: Lighting in the room was poor. Would've liked more options for their menu.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Everything was great
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. Great secluded beachfront hotel next to a full service boutique hotel.
Cons: Could have an a better breakfast spread.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The small hotel is beautiful, comfortable with lots of style. The pool is extremely clean and very nice.
Cons: The description does NOT tell you that the hotel restaurant is NOT open for dinner. You are on your own. This is a VERY remote location and the 'local' beach vendors close at 6 or 630. There is a good and pricey (for Mexico) restaurant in the hotel next door, but you need to be ready to pay that price. The chef in the restaurant next door was great. At Casa Kaukan we thought the marlin ceviche was good however the fish tacos were awful and we did not eat them. The staff didn't care, didn't ask (although they don't speak English) and there was no recourse. Oh well. The food is pricey too. They offer generic toast and coffee for breakfast and a PRICEY menu. I think they should offer more complimentary. I was disappointed at that. The beach establishments 0.5 km down the beach at the public access offer VERY reasonably priced and large filling breakfasts and lunch menus. We really enjoyed those. The taxi ride/fare was not usual, as it is in Zihua but could be. When asked to call a taxi the main manager called this tour taxi in a giant SUV, instead of the 'regular' Zihua - Ixtapa white sedan taxi. Another person on the premises had called the 'regular' taxi for another customer but we were not so lucky. Consequently, it cost us more to ride into Zihua to get dinner (they don't serve dinner and its expensive at the neighboring restaurant). Its turns out to be a taxi racket. In US its not that much more but it does leave the customer with a touch of a BAD feeling. I run an Airbnb and I want my customers to feel great and well treated when they leave. I really like Casa Kaukan especially the attention to detail the owners put into the establishment. It seems like the management ONLY need to really change their customer service. It would really help if the main manager spoke a spec of English as it is so close to Zihua with international visitors would be a good move.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The beach and eating area
Cons: Everything else
5.8 Okay
Pros: Room was beautiful and clean.
Cons: When we got there and mentioned booking.com, the owner just replied with ‘no’ nothing else, we then had to get one of the young gardeners to call an English speaking rep of the hotel who was helpful, but we got transferred back and fourth between a couple different cell phones for atleast a half hour. The owner couldn’t have been a more rude human and both of the other couples that we met during our 2 night stay there told us their horror stories with him too. I’ve travelled all over the world and am super laid back and recognize all the challenges that come with language barriers, but all three days we dealt with him it was brutal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated on gorgeous Playa Blanca, the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our ocean front room was very large, and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was vey adequate with a large walk in shower. We had plenty of hot water in the shower. WiFi worked well. The lap pool is large enough to swim, very clean with good chaises to chill. We loved the peace and quiet at Casat Kau Kan, not missing Television or Hairdryer.
Cons: Not just at this property, of eating in general at Playa Larga. Breakfast isn’t available anywhere before 9 and Coffee other tan instant is hard to find. Almost Restaurants close at 6mp.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet place to escape - no phone, no wifi, no television, no loud music, no automobiles, just peace and relaxation in a clean, comfortable, 'end of the road' establishment. Fantastic stretch of sandy, sun-soaked beach, were you can walk for hours all alone. Restuarant served excellent (selection limited) meals. You'll find speaking some Spanish very useful.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The convenience of staying in a little apartment with own kitchen, living room, terrace and jacuzzi but still have hotel services.
Cons: In this area you can’t go in the sea as the waves are big and dangerous. The pool area doesn’t have enough umbrellas and beds.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Carlos and staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a super relaxing getaway. Highly recommended, and we will be back. Muchas Gracias!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beach has one of the best sand quality and food was good.
Cons: Overall the resort was.excellent. But organized guest service was missing. My booking was not ready when i checked in and hot water was not available before I asked to fix the boiler. Each room is.owned by.different owner and has different features.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This quiet, secluded property on a clean and undiscovered beach was beyond expectations. Although the website showed a “penthouse “ and we book a 2 bedroom villa, it did not disappoint in any way. Plunge pool on the deck, dining table al fresco, spacious interior, awesome beach and ocean views. The staff was all amazing, so friendly and helpful in every way. Great restaurants on site and others at properties just a 10-15 minute walk along the beach. You can walk this beach north or south for miles and barely see any other people. So close to the airport.
Cons: A couple of minor things — “full kitchen” didn’t include an oven! Also we had mouse droppings left on the deck every day in the same place!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Interior design was in great taste. Las Palmas was like a little community, everyone was so friendly. The pools, the oceans, and the breezes were amazing. The breakfast was good. We’re definitely coming back!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional beach, quiet and gorgeous!
Cons: Cleaning staff needs to leave enough toiletries, clean a little deeper, leave enough toilet paper, but overall - great place!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: I would put a little bit of effort on the food.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great stay will definitely book here again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The views from all rooms overlook the bay. Damian is the chef there and he’ll cook up anything you want. Just tell him the day before so he can buy it if he doesn’t have on hand. The entire staff was very polite and helpful and speak English for us that doesn’t speak fluent Spanish. It is a short walk to downtown but take a taxi home as it’s a pretty steep hill to climb. Cab rides to most places in town is $5-$8 IS dollars. Ask Damien for his suggestion on drivers. The gals at the front desk were awesome also!! We’ll return again!
Cons: View, Damien’s cooking and two very nice restaurants nearby but check for when they are open or call and they’ll open for you even if one person!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view, and the best Hotel Manager. Damian will go out of his way to make your stay comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an exceptional stay. The room we stayed in, room 101 was beautiful and spacious, uniquely designed, boutique in nature. The service attention from the owners is first class, they helped us in so many ways. The room has a large fridge, and the views over the bay were incredible. The cleanliness of the hotel, linens, towels and the pool was impressive. All of that for a crazy low price

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have been staying at Villa Mexicana for over fifteen years. And this year it just seemed exceptionally good. The front desk staff lead by Eloisa is incredible and very helpful. The restaurant was good; both food and staff. And our room was delightful. It is obvious that the owners/management of the hotel have been making some improvements to the property. So far, so good! Just don't make too many changes! A very enjoyable long vacation.
Cons: Frankly, this year I do not have any negative comments. Seriously, all good.
7.5 Good
Pros: I like the fact that was not overcrowded and the staff was amazing and very accommodating
Cons: The property was great!! Can't wait to go back after they finish the outdoor remodeling
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very interesting comp breakfast
Cons: Very firm bed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beach was beautiful and only steps away from our room
Cons: Small coffee pot in room. Service in cafe could be more consistent. We waited for food and received it cold ☹️
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beach, and stuff was exellent
Cons: Food in restaurant, no wifi in room
6.8 Good
Pros: +The location is excellent. You are right on the beach, a lovely, safe beach. The bed was comfortable and had a generous supply of pillows. I ate a breakfast at their restaurant, Dona Prudencia, and it was lovely and had good food.
Cons: I probably wouldn't stay there again. It is basically an old motel that has been updated a bit. Some of the employees must not be treated well because they seem unhappy working there. The shower was spaying water upwards and out of the shower area so the bathroom floor was really wet and slippery and dangerous. I reported it to the front desk and nothing was repaired. On the 3rd day I saw a woman who seemed in charge of housekeeping and I explained about the shower and she had a repair person quickly fix the shower head. The pools are a bit sad, definitely remnants of its motel heritage.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: No wifi as advertised in our room, restaurant, lounge or pool area, spotty in lobby. Drinks were small and no bottled beer, no fridge or coffee in room, towels were old and coarse. We spent little time there other than to sleep
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Several pools available depending on what you were looking for. Staff were very accommodating. My only suggestion would be is to get up early and reserve a lounge chair as they are somewhat limited.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay we’ll be back!!
Cons: Poor WiFi!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was more than I expected. The portions were sizable. The location was fantastic. Unless we went to town, we never had to wear shoes and were steps away from everything we needed. We felt safe and well taken care of.

Pros: Great location in the beach and you can sit in the pool and watch the ocean. Quiet this years and it was the 3rd time we came. Great value! Clean! Beds are hard thou so drink lots of margaritas before retiring. Taxis on hand 24hrs. Walk to town it pay $50pesos great restaurants within walking distance or stay at the hotel. All great in zihuatanejo!

7.0 Good
Pros: Close to Playa Ropa and La Perla one of my go to places. Easy access and secure parking. The attendants were very hospitable. Never got to use the pool but it looked inviting. There is a covered patio area with tables and chairs. Also a communal fridge and several burners to cook food. The WiFi worked well.
Cons: We could have used a better chair outside our door. They told me not to use it and they never replaced it. The sink in the bathroom is yards away from your stomach which is just poor design and didn't affect our stay. Also could have used hot water. The other travelers and staff told me to let the water run which we did. Even after two showers there was no hot water. For my husband this was not important but for me it was.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Orlo was an excellent employee friendly and willing to do anything that was requested and is also a vey hard worker! Loved the outdoor kitchen!
Cons: Rooms need updating and each room should have their own fridge! Beds ar hard!

8.0 Excellent

Pros: the hotel is not to big, which gives you a sense of privacy. staff is very friendly and helpful restaurant (on the beach) is very good
Cons: the beach (locatedinside the village) is not the best beach of the region
10.0 Excellent
Pros: View perfect. Staff amazing. And restaurant down stairs Bistro del Mar is fantastic, FRANCISCO A TRUE PROFESSIONAL!
Cons: Having to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful, friendly and helpful service from everyone there: especially Carlos, Martin, Jesus and Miguel. If your Spanish isn't great (mine certainly isn't), that is not a problem; their English is very good. The hotel is a little bit of heaven: only 30 rooms but with a good restaurant, bar with a great view over the bay, lush landscaping, lovely pool (with wait staff) plus the hotel is right on the beach. There's even a spa for massages, mani pedi etc. If you like excellent service in a small hotel with unbelievable value in an authentic Mexican fishing town (warts and all) that has lots of very good restaurants (from basic, inexpensive Mexican to fancy expensive international) this is the spot for you. If you want a huge, flashy, sterile hotel with lots of nightlife, multiple pools and lots of people eating and drinking all they can, then please go to Cancun.
Cons: No complaints, but If I had to pick something it would be the spotty wifi. That being said, I went to relax not to surf the Internet or spend time on facebook
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located right in middle of the bay on the best beach! We were greeted with ice cold beer and cool towels at check in desk. Our room was fabulous, tropical decor beautiful
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Honestly, what's not to like? Every room has an amazing view. We loved the hammock on our patio and our private jacuzzi. Bistro Del Mar is one of the best restaurants in the city. The beach is amazing. Every beach in Zihua offers something different, and they're all worth visiting, but Playa Madera is great as a home base. There's also a very sweet black dog who lives down there. Buy him a burger if you see him. Rosalba at the front desk is really nice and helpful. Jesus, who works in the restaurant and sunset bar, is friendly and has good recommendations.
Cons: The bed is very comfortable, but it's so soft that it hurt my back. Corola the parrot lived right outside out room. He is...not quiet. But you get used to it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very wonderful
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent, 10 min walk through a beach walkway to downtown. Very friendly staff. Excellent and beautiful facilities. Included welcome drink and drinking water on the hallway are a nice touch. Nice view to the beach.
Cons: The prices for the services are a bit on the expensive side. Restaurant and massage services are more expensive than competitors around the area, however, if you go out through the beach side and walk around the area, you can find them cheaper.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, unique hotel experience.
Cons: Shower/bath could use updates
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Private, romantic, comfortable, beautiful views and affordable!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!! The staff, the room, the beach and the food!!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a boutique hotel in great setting, and with meticulously planned and maintained lash tropical like design of the premises with great views of the town and bay. Room was equipped with king bed, sofa, large balcony had jet tub, two chase lounges, 2 chairs with coffee table and a sun umbrella. The view was great! The hotel has good restaurant on the beach; we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast there.
Cons: The hotel has minor maintenance issues. One of the vanity faucets (there are double vanity sinks) was somewhat wobbly.

Cons: Choices of menu Pricing of menu felt like it worked for outsiders not hotel guests
7.5 Good
Pros: I booked La casa que canta and it was not clear for me that there was a 20 % tax above the price of the room. The cancelation policy was just absurd since you had to do so 15 days ahead. We enjoyed the hotel but it was just awfully expensive.
Cons: The price of the room was tricky...

Pros: Beautiful hotel overlooking the beautiful bay of Zihuatanejo. Impeccable rooms , terrific staff and great food. This is a small boutique hotel with about 25 rooms and so you feel that you have all the privacy in the world . Terrific food in the dinning room and a very pleasant staff . We only stayed 3 days but will come back next year for at least a week

Pros: everything
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, good value and an all around good experience.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good and the amount included was more than enough. The view was beautiful (room 28).
Cons: The hotel didn't have a record of my booking and they had to do some searching to find it. I wish they didn't lock the gate to the beach at 5PM; I wanted to take a walk at twilight.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: 46 pesos for a beer, 50 yards away on the beach 5 for 100pesos, come on Irma, that's just GREED
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very clean and good food. Nice short walk into town along the water. Staff were friendly and always willing to please. The general manager, Yara, made a point of welcoming guests and making sure they were well looked after. Added a nice personal touch.
Cons: The beach was beautiful but one in our party found it difficult to access due to steepness of steps and hill.
7.4 Good
Pros: You can walk to the beach, town and restaurants. The view was beautiful. The staff was friendly and professional.
Cons: The hotel needs a facelift. My air conditioner quit and I had to move to another room. One day only hot water in the shower. Hair dryer smelled like it was on the verge of burning up. All problems handled promptly, but should not be happening. Everything a little dated.
6.8 Good
Pros: The pool and view
Cons: Screwed up payments...they double charged me and still not refunded! They say they can’t do it through visa refund and now can’t do anything till banks open after weekend!! Unacceptable!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and breakfast were on par with what we expected. View and pool deck were nice
Cons: The hotel staff and service were very poor and we ended up having to dispute several charges they put on my credit card as the accidentally charged the card in duplicate. There are a million rules at this property and they seem to be waiting for any excuse to charge you additional. Small Cramped room with very mediocre Air Conditioning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The character of the hotel is Mexican, a lovely scale with lots of tile and greenery. It is the opposite of a generic syndicate hotel. Breakfast is included and it’s very good. The staff at the desk and in the restaurant were extremely attentive and helpful. The rooms are simple and very clean. All you need. You are in Mexico!
Cons: The room has air conditioning which is efficient and not too loud. I would love to have a simple fan for times when you just want a breeze. A small fridge might be nice. Internet seems to be episodic. These are small things compared to Irma’s strengths.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The location, the view, the room, the staff, communication and responsiveness of the staff.
Cons: Nothing except for the price of the large water bottle at 35 pesos, 3 times the regular price.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: small fridge in rooms would have made things more enjoyable
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The piña coladas, the happy hour, the Breakfast, the wonderful view and the nice pool.
Cons: The towel service. They were offered us since we arrived , but they were not available the 3 days of our staying.
