Comfortable beds, little balcony, big room
Wifi didn’t work, staff wasn’t particularly friendly or helpful, service not up to 4-star-standards
The place looks almost like the paradise when it is sunshine. A swimming in the Wörthersee is fine. It is possible to take an electric boat to have a trip along the lake. There are some very interesting castles and ruins around the Wörthersee. Not far from it you may go to the mountains and to look to a large part of Karinthia from 1500 meters.
Breakfast is a good one, but the waiters don't offer an omelett or a fried eggs and it is not anywhere an information that it is possible to order. The minibar in our room was not refilled during the whole week. There was no information about a laundry service in the room.
I only spent one night on the way home. Well located, nice, clean room. The buffet breakfast selection is excellent, kind and helpful staff.
It's overpriced. After check out I had to pay to stay on the beach until afternoon. The bed was uncomfortably soft. In the evening the live music was very disturbing and loud.
the room was cosy, the balcony nice, tge Badehaus cosy, the saunas nice, swimmig areas are good, uncomplicated use, not too crowded given the size of the hotel. Good parking slots, one free, one paid, direct access from parking house to rooms. But its also a famous hotel, so I expected a little standard. Staff was helpful in the reception.
the strange opening hours of the diverse bars/cafes/restaurants and the tratment by the waiters if one didn t know all their rules by heart what one was allowed to do and when. The Badehaus which is the most interesting structure here was complicated with rules: certain areas are meant only for sitting in bathing clothes and eat and drink allowed from 12.00 to 17.00. Then its closed for one hour. After 18.00 to 21,00 its open again, but one can only eat with reservation (drinks only allowed), certain areas only for food, certain only for drink (although during day one could eat there as well). So once I ww wanted to eat there after 18.00, we were not served. waiter gave fuzzy information (he did not clearly deny neither affirm that we could order from the menu, so he brought the menu, but later because we were insistent and asking again whether one can eat, he sent the lead waiter to tell us that there is no capacity to be served since we had no reservation). The lead waiter was more friendly than the otger one, but it was still very confusimg. The main hotel restaurant was open until later 20.30 or ? But since I ve already been reprimanded twice for either not sitting in the right place or not being able to eat, etc... I was afraid of having another unpleasant interaction with them and being sent away, so finally avoided to eat there at all and went somewhere else. The breakfast is only until 10.30, which I find old fashioned for a starred hotel with this big size and name. some streamlining or better explanations of opening hours, sitting and menu rules would be wanted. In the main lobby bar you cannot get drinks or coffee until 15.00. In a hotel like this, I would have thought that everything is available everywhere at all times. The elevators are a bit slow and always waiting time!!
The main attraction about this hotel, at least in summer, is a big lawn (let us not call it park, though) and a beach with soft entrance to water, ideal for small kids and non-swimmers. It is about the only hotel which has this. The bathhouse pavillion (with a restaurant and a sumptuous spa) is nicely restaured, food there is gourmet level. The breakfast in the main bulding is memorable, feels more like a degustation of local bio products.
The hotel itself, on the other hand, lacks architectural charm and has rather a business feel. The halfboard (judging by the menu) is a buffet of usual suspects of standart resort cuisine, not so interesting.
