The warm welcome, which continued throughout our stay. Little touches like the fairy cakes each day were lovely. Having useful items such as a towelling dressing gowns in the room was great, an item I often forsake due to bulkiness, but do miss. The breakfasts were delicious and Richard and Trisha were very accommodating with individual needs. Our room was extremely pretty, but also practical, the shower was amazing and tea and coffee facilities more than adequate. The long slightly bumpy in places drive up to this property is very much worth it.
Loved the fact the house dated back to 1693. It is reached, by car, up a very long, bumpy dirt track, which just throws you back in time. The house is absolutely amazing ...... full of original features, especially the small 17th century staircase, up to our room. The room itself, was beautifully decorated with a very comfortable double bed and a wonderful original feature window, which looked out over the fields. Our hosts were a lovely couple, extremely friendly and helpful and even provided a lovely home baked cake each, plus biscuits, along with the complimentary tea & coffee in our room. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was exceptional. We were seated in a lovely conservatory type room, which overlooked the back of the house, with beautiful views across the hills. We enjoyed our one night stay so much and only wished we had been able to stay for a week.
The one and only thing we would say we were slightly disappointed with, was the fact that the en-suite bathroom did not have a bath, only a shower. We had booked our nights stay in a Superior Double room, but felt that the bathroom was really tiny, though once again, beautifully decorated. For the price of a Superior room, we were expecting to have the use of a bath. as well as a shower. Having said that, the shower was really good, very powerful.
Everything. The house is beautiful and close to Settle. Plenty of places to eat there.
Had a wonderful 2 night stay. Such a quirky lovely B & B. Rooms are beautiful, lots of little ornaments/antiques to look at. Even a complementary sherry decanter with glasses. Owners are lovely, offer lots of information about the area and always around if needed, nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic breakfast spread, plenty of choice too. Definitely will visit again.
What a lovely place!!!! Staff amazing, room amazing, breakfast amazing. Enough said.
Delightful hosts, charming house, lovely setting, superb breakfast, sherry unique touch.
