The building is historic and stunning which was a big part of reason I booked it. The place has a lot of potential but unfortunately that’s where the positives end. All staff were never properly trained and has no understanding of hospitality. You would think a boutique hotel is meant to be more personal and relaxed but that is not the case. You can see they try by clearly lacking even basic training from checkin to bar service. I stayed for 7 nights and had drinks at the bar most days and no supervisor or manager in site. This is extremely disappointing especially for a place that charges premium prices. I don’t expect to automatically get an upgrade being Bonvoy Gold but most others would at least acknowledge the loyalty .. the check in staff didn’t even know that. At check out, feedback was given to GM but he didn’t seem interested . It seems Marriott is trying to avoid feedback and it’s clear most of Marriott properties are sliding in quality globally. They have removed any option on their portal to provide feedback either generally or for specific property. Will not be returning.
