They couldn't even find me on their system
Somerset-Bridgewater and Hotels.com blamed each other for the confusion, after 3 hours of the circus, I decided to book another hotel down the road that worked out much better. I have stayed at the Bridgewater when it was the Marriott, it was Ok then, seems to have plummeted to a new low. Never booking here again and no hotels through hotels.com.
One-night stay for 87 bucks after tax
-The rate -the bed
-the elevator (old and rickety. Another guest put his arm in to stop the door but it continued to close after contact. My wife pressed the open button to no avail. Good thing he was able to pull it out in time). -The overall decor and overall ambience. From afar the hotel looks great, but up close it really shows its age, and not in a good way. They say they're going to do a remodel soon, perhaps if I'm in the area I'll give it another go.
Very worn down place. Really shows its age. Rooms dinghy. Not up kept
The area is surrounded by hotels. U can do way better for less money
Nice lobby rooms adequate size
Nice lobby, restaurant okay. Rooms average size
It was freezing! And we adjusted the room temp. S freezing
old and worn
The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable
Although I booked a king size bed, I was told that none were available and was forced into a double bed room. The service was terrible from my first interaction and through checkout. I could not plug anything into the television (my computer for work purposes) due to policy the hotel claimed was in place to protect the tvs from being damaged. Yet the hotel took 50 dollars from my card to cover damage and/or incidentals. I did not use any room service nor did I charge anything to the room, yet the money has not been returned to my card. This was one of the worst experiences at a hotel that I have ever been through. I would have gladly taken my money back since they could not offer me the room that I booked, but my card had been charged prior to check in and I could not get a refund despite my protests. I highly doubt that I will book through a third party vendor again, and I definitely will never stay at the Somerset Hotel again.
The hotel reception and restaurant downstairs smelled really bad and the food served in the restaurant was way below average.
Breakfast was very good. There was a variety of foods and everything tasted good.
The room was a bit small for the cost.
Nice big spacious rooms, with toilet and shower separate from wash basin.
No eating possibilities around hotel. You need car, nearest eating-possibility at least 10 minutes by car. No fridge available
