Elegant apartment & Very clean; rooms are ok in size; breakfast was more that adequate. Location excellent. Yvana was so helpful and patient in helping w/ our island tours.
No elevator. Hard to bring luggage up and down 3 sets of stairs.
Fantastic location, clean & comfortable room with adequate breakfast included. Would definitely recommend.
The only bad thing was it was noisy. In the morning you’d get woken by the bell tower chiming and lots of visitors in the palace being noisy, but I guess that’s life in such a busy palace!
Perfect location for exploring Split’s beautiful old town and waterfront. Lovely room, tastefully furnished, with comfy bed. Nice deep bath and good shower attachment. Felt really special staying in a room within such an historic building. Would definitely recommend and very likely to return ourselves! If travelling by car, Acorus Garage (10 minute walk away) provides secure parking.
Disappointed there were no chocolate croissants for breakfast on second day.
The quality of the accommodation and the location is really perfect.
A really problem is the pillow. Very very hard. Minor problem is some noise of the centre of the Dioclesian.
Given that Augubio is physically located within Diocletian's Palace, the major attraction of Split, the location was unbeatable. A slew of restaurants and bars were inside as well as outside the palace walls. Several less touristy restaurants can be found at the end of the promenade near the marina. Our hostess waited for us to arrive and provided a lot of details about the area. Breakfast was great - didn't each lunch either day we were there. Augubio is a collection of apartments within the palace that have been extensively renovated, with an eye to keeping as much of the incredible antiquity as possible. Our apartment had some of the original Roman era walls and doorways, expertly described by our hostess. Our two night stay was really an experience!
The entire palace area is a pedestrian zone, for obvious reasons. We had a car and had to jump through some serious hoops to park it. You really don't need one to visit old Split itself, so if you can avoid having a car, I would. Our parking experience was stressful at the time, but we eventually managed and now have some outrageous parking stories to tell. Also, much like Dubrovnik, old Split is host to cruise ships and a lot (a LOT) of tour groups. Even in late September, it was bloody crowded in those narrow streets. The selfie stick phenomenon is not yet dead, tragically. I can't imagine what it would be like in the summer.
Bed and breakfast: 3 rooms. Set right in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Diocletian's Palace, Palace Augubio offers elegant rooms housed in the Renaissance palace. Free Wi-Fi is provided. The Cathedral and Peristil Square are just steps away. Located on the 2nd floor of a building with no elevator, the rooms are decorated with stone wall elements and furnished with solid wood furniture. Each room is air-conditioned and features a TV with cable and satellite channels, a minibar and a safe. The breakfast is served in the common dining room. In the vicinity guests can enjoy numerous bars and restaurants serving local cuisine. Green market can be found 50 metres away.
