The owner of the hotel was really friendly. I liked the option of having a bath at the end of the day and didn't mind having to reserve the bath time. Reserving the bath time was super easy. You just had to tell the owner when and which bath you want to use. Fresh towels where provided at the reception every day. The reading nook on the first floor was a nice idea. I also liked the provided microwave and the hot water to make coffee or tea.
Shin-Okubo station is really close to the hotel so you can hear the trains comming. As the station is served by the really busy Yamanote line it's a train every 2-4 minutes. Some rooms (like mine) don't get any daylight as the window could be blocked by other buildings around the hotel.
The location was great, very close to Shin-Okubo station and even walkable distance from Shinjuku so easy to get around Tokyo from there. The hostel is right by the train tracks though so you could hear the trains going by but personally I didn't mind that at all. Also loved the private bath they offered, it was amazing to soak in after a long day.
The room was small but I knew to expect that and I still fit well enough with my suitcase.
The hotel is close to the shin-okubo station, just one stop away from shinjuku. This year, this station will finish installing a lift. The room is okay, not too big not too small. The bed is comfortable and there's a fridge if you plan to buy your own food instead of eating out. I would suggest to bring ear plugs since all train station sounds can be heard from the room.
It was much quieter than other hostels I've stayed at. No late night parties or overloud discussions. The owner is kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and neat . Overall, I'd definitely stay there again.
It iss directly next to the train and the station, so you can here all the trains and announcements, though it isn't too loud it can be troublesome for a light sleeper. There are only two showers/baths, but tons of rooms. However, this isn't too inconvenient if you prefer morning showers and most Japanese bathe at night.
