Was ideally located
No food served
Location was lovely and quiet.
The bed consisted of an old base with 2 mattresses on top. During the night this sagged really badly and there was a massive dip in the middle which gave us both a sore back. The room and sheets were quite clean but the cups were dirty and the windows wide open when we arrived in the evening, meaning the room was freezing and we had to ask for a heater (which we were given).
John was friendly and helpful. Beds comfy. Place had a classic style.
WiFi didn’t work
The room is very large and comfortable. The area is quite.
There was no breakfast as foreseen, but it was hard to find something open nearby.
Very clean. Large family room: twin beds and bunks, all very comfortable & no creaking! Communal kitchen had stove top, microwave, fridge etc etc so we made our own breakfast, ate our main meal out and then cooked snacks in the evening which, for a family, actually works out cheaper and easier than going out for dinner with exhausted kids who only fancy mac & cheese!! Nice sitting room for playing games. Pool table was a HUGE hit with our 2.
Rather run down, which is sad as you can really see how glorious it could be. Not marketed correctly: it's not a hotel, but it's an almost-self-catering-family-friendly-kind-of-hostel!!! Bathroom curtain was actually a hand towel thrown over a curtain track. Beware: Sat nav wants to take you up some step tiny driveway rather than on the "main" road.
