Very comfortable beds, nice views, helpful staff Wonderful breakfast
Everything was great
Fantastic location, 5 minute walk from the shopping strip, esplanade and famous church. The hotel itself is really creative and funky, the fitout gives the place a really cool vibe. The traditional scandinavian breakfast is great. Delicious fresh breads and toppings and pastries and you can make your own waffles. I stayed in a "shoe box" room which was compact but had everything I needed for an overnight stay - including a huge comfy bed - and was spotless. High quality linen and amenities.
No lift so you have to carry your bag upstairs. Although the hotel is easy to locate, the reception isn't obvious - it looks more like a restaurant (which it is) rather than a hotel reception and is not always attended so that's a little confusing. But, there are wait staff there so you can just ask.
Booked Akureyri Hotel, but given room in separate building 2 minutes further down street. Very new building with quirky features. Good location, very easy to find and close to centre of town (3 minute drive or 15 minute walk).
Room quite small and access to bed from one side only, meaning gymnastics were required. Morning sun shone directly into the room making it extremely hot. Breakfast served in main building (2 minutes away) but insufficient space. Difficult to find a seat, and very hard to access buffet breakfast with so many people. Limited choices at breakfast.
It's a very cosy hotel right next to the city center. The lobby area is very nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable.
The breakfast area is down in the lobby, and the property owns other guest houses whose guests come to have breakfast at the hotel as well. This means that the room is completely packed, there are not enough tables for everyone, and some of the food finished way before breakfast time was over. It is madness in the morning, not exactly a relaxing atmosphere.
super breakfast, make your own waffles
room was very warm ( heating turned off) not enough space for people having breakfast
