The selection at breakfast was the highlight and the ammeneties were clean and adequate.
Some issues with communicating due to language issues.

It suited my purposes well ie to visit Beyreuth. However I specifically requested a room with a bath & booked several weeks prior to my visit. On arrival I was told only 2 rooms had a bath & both were taken!
There was a compound underneath the rooms & into the garden for rabbits. At night time there were rats also!

I couldn't get a hotel in Bayreuth itself but they very kindly picked me up at the station and delivered me there when I was leaving for no charge. The festival shuttle service is a bit pricey at €40 return. I went one way and got a taxi back (€25 including a tip) but they still charged me for a return. On the whole, I have positive feelings about the hotel. I thought it was going to be a hassle staying so far - 15 mins drive - outside Bayreuth, but the Meister Bär makes it easy and pleasant.

I really enjoyed the friendly staff and the personal service. And the fact that you could still get the full menue after the performance at the Festspielhaus.
