Being able to have a hot bath after a long day walking in the rain was bliss. Reasonable priced standard menu freshly prepared with friendly staff. A very good selection of quality cooked and cold food. Tea pots could be bigger.
The seating area as you enter has the most beautiful fire place. The breakfast room is large and roomy . The Breakfast at a charge of £10.00 per person is well worth it. A very good cold buffet and the hot food was very well prepared. Free parking excellent. It was a very quiet hotel we slept well. The double bed was very comfortable.
There was old newspaper stuffed in the bedroom windows to keep them from moving if it was windy. There in an ironmongers across the road who would be able to sell small wedges which would be acceptable in the window frames in such an old building There was only 1 small bottle of shampoo and no other toiletries. To many couches in the seating area as you arrive at the reception. This is a lovely space which should really be open and welcoming. No one to greet you as you enter the breakfast room. Find a clean table and do your own thing till someone came offered tea or coffee and took your order. Maybe could do with another person on duty.
Location. Breakfast. Politeness.
For £70 I expected a wee bit more than a loft conversion!
The food in the bar was delicious! Very friendly and helpful staff.
One of the bedrooms was above the pub, so unfortunately it was quite noisy at night. The bathrooms were very clean but could do with being modernised.
Breafast was excellent, well cooked and served in a speedy manner. Very good freshly cooked breakfast plenty of choice a nice break from buffet style with dried out food.
Food was good, room was spotless with a bit of character, staff were first class and most helpful
