Overview

In the wine capital of Burgundy, the Best Western Plus Au Grand Saint Jean, Beaune, France, makes an ideal base for the museums, architecture, and vineyards of the town, a fully remodelled four-star within an easy walk of the famous Hospices de Beaune and the wine cellars, and a short cycle out among the vines. Well placed near the station and the motorways, the hotel suits a stay built around the vineyards or the region, its rooms comfortable and well equipped. A 24-hour team helps plan tastings, tables, and days out. Beaune is the beating heart of the Burgundy wine country, a walled old town wrapped around the Hospices with their famous patterned tile roof, where the autumn wine auction draws buyers from around the world, with the grand-cru slopes of the Côte de Beaune, the cellars of the great houses, and the vineyard villages of the Cote rolling out close by. Among the vines, the rows run gold in the autumn light.
