this is a family run establishment. Wife checked us in; husband is the chef; son and brother bartend and wait tables. All were exceedingly friendly and accommodating. Room was very comfortable and large. Bathroom was also large and well appointed. Balcony was an added bonus. Restaurant was intimate. Food was very good - not particularly gourmet but more like "homey" German. English menu was not available but waiter (the son) very charmingly translated for us.
I think this hotel is a bit out of the way. It didn't bother us because we were just staying one night on a trip from Rothenberg through the Rhine Valley to view castles, then on to Brussels the next day. But we didn't see anything within walking distance if one wanted to shop, dine or drink.
Lovely Welcome and a very pleasant atmosphere.
Excellent American breakfast - yoghurt to die for. Excellent evening meal.
Good food & very good family run hotel
A superb hotel in all respects. The room, which had a balcony looking towards the Rhine gorge, was spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel is located in a peaceful location within a small village, about 4 miles from the town of Boppard. The breakfasts were excellent and the dinners served in the restaurant were superb and very good value. The hosts were extremely friendly and attentive.
The breakfast was superb, especially the home made yoghurt.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The dinner in the restaurant was great! The room was spacious, quiet surrounding

The extra bed was a little bit narrow.
We had a very late arrival at night due to driving delays and the woman at the reception desk kindly stayed to admit us and showed us to our room. The room was immaculate, big, and the view was lovely. The breakfast was well done and very good. The area was quiet.
Even with a car it was a bit inaccessible and hard to find without a navigation system.
Breakfast was so good.
no extra bed was available.
