Seaside, Oregon is a family-friendly, fun-packed vacation destination in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. This area is known for its diverse array of activities, from kayaking and hiking through ancient forests to going for a nostalgic spin on the dodgem cars (or bumper cars as they're known here). I’ve been travelling to Seaside on family vacations since my childhood and couldn’t recommend a visit here more. The accommodation and restaurant selection in the area is just as enticing – there truly is something for every traveller here. In Seaside, you can find charming beachfront bed and breakfasts; a wide range of motels, hotels and beach resorts to suit every budget; and even campgrounds and RV parks for more adventurous travellers. Most of the town’s top shops and restaurants are located within a few blocks of the main road, Broadway Street. This is also where you can find most of the best hotels in Seaside. Here are my top picks for your next stay.

1.

Rivertide Suites

Address:

102 North Holladay

Price:

C$ 219-C$ 219/night

Rivertide Suites is one of the best hotels in Seaside if you want to stay right on the beautiful river that flows through the town. The hotel is set in a prime central location, just a few blocks from the beach.

Although the beach is most popular during the summer, the amenities offered here make Rivertide Suites an ideal place to stay any time of the year. Each of the 70 suites has air-conditioning and private balconies for the warmer months, while in the winter you can cozy up in front of a roaring fireplace.

There’s also an indoor pool, fitness centre and complimentary breakfast served daily. Each suite is complete with full-size appliances if you prefer to cook your own meals. The Seaside Antique Mall is only a three-minute walk from the hotel, so don’t miss it – I could spend an entire day browsing the vintage pieces here.

2.

Hillcrest Inn

Address:

118 North Columbia

Price:

C$ 96-C$ 525/night

If you’re looking for a clean, centrally located and affordable option for your vacation in the Pacific Northwest, this is the place to book. The Hillcrest Inn is one of the best hotels in Seaside for families or business travellers looking for access to the adjacent convention centre. The hotel offers free parking, a snack bar, laundry facilities and – my favourite – a library for guests to browse.

The Hillcrest Inn is also pet-friendly and right by the Seaside Beach promenade, so it’s the perfect place to bring a furry friend. I highly recommend taking a stroll along here during your trip to Seaside. Don’t miss the automobile Turnaround plaza at the end of Broadway on the beach – it’s one of Oregon’s most famous landmarks.

3.

Gilbert Inn Seaside

Address:

341 Beach Drive

Price:

C$ 105-C$ 267/night

Gilbert Inn Seaside is a small, cozy hotel just a few blocks from the beach. Each of the beautiful suites here has a unique name – my top pick is the charming Marthe’s Suite, with its wooden four-poster bed and bath for soaking in.

This is also one of the best hotels in Seaside in terms of amenities, with an on-site arcade/games room, a library, free bicycles and a complimentary continental breakfast.

Seaside is such a bike-friendly town, so I recommend taking advantage of the free bikes during your stay here. Bikes are allowed on the 2.4-kilometre-long promenade along the beach, and I highly recommend a cycle by the coast during your trip. You can also bike to the Seaside Aquarium, which is less than five minutes away.

4.

Ebb Tide Oceanfront Inn

Address:

300 North Prom

Price:

C$ 82-C$ 1,613/night

The Ebb Tide Oceanfront Inn is one of the best hotels in Seaside in terms of location. Most of its rooms offer full or partial ocean views, and the Seaside Aquarium is less than a minute’s walk from the property.

The aquarium has been open since 1937, making it the oldest privately owned aquarium on the west coast. It’s open year-round and offers family ticketing packages, so it’s a must if you’re travelling with kids. I loved experiencing the aquatic marvels there during my time in Seaside.

The Ebb Tide Oceanfront Inn has an on-site hot tub as well as free continental breakfast, free WiFi and complimentary toiletries. Each room can be accessed via an exterior corridor, and all the rooms have fireplaces. What’s more, visit during the off-season and you’ll get access to more affordable room rates.

5.

Saltline Hotel

Address:

250 1st Avenue

Price:

C$ 140-C$ 853/night

Saltline Hotel is two blocks from the best shops, restaurants and entertainment options on Broadway Street. If you want to stay close to the action and be able to walk to all the finest local attractions, this is one of the best hotels in Seaside to book.

The hotel also features an indoor, heated saline pool and an on-site massage therapist. In terms of location, it’s just a five-minute walk from Seaside Beach and the famous Promenade.

If you’re looking to visit iconic Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock is just a 15-minute drive from the property. I highly recommend visiting at sunset, when this spot becomes a photographer’s paradise. I really enjoyed taking photos on the beach with my loved ones during my time here.

6.

Ashore Hotel

Address:

125 Oceanway Street

Price:

C$ 129-C$ 974/night

The Ashore Hotel is a two-minute walk from Seaside’s famous Turnaround. Set right at the end of Broadway Street, it allows you to drive up the beach and overlook the sea. The spot has been frequented by travellers from all around the world for almost 100 years.

The Ashore isn’t just one of the best hotels in Seaside, it’s also one of the best coffee shops in town. If you’re a coffee lover, I highly recommend staying here for an unforgettable cup of joe. You’ll also find an on-site bar, snack bar, indoor pool, sauna and poolside bar.

I love the fact this hotel offers complimentary bicycles for guests, ideal for pedalling along the boardwalk and promenade that hugs Seaside Beach. The promenade has been a key tourist attraction since the 1920s, so it’s a must-see during your stay.

7.

Inn at Seaside

Address:

441 2nd Avenue

Price:

C$ 105-C$ 622/night

The Inn at Seaside is one of the best hotels in Seaside for groups – I love the two-bedroom suites and the Queen and King guestrooms. The hotel is also set just steps from the Seaside Civic and Convention Center, making this the perfect accommodation choice for those visiting on business or for an event.

Another great perk is the free parking. I highly recommend renting a car for your trip to Seaside so you can easily explore all the adjacent beaches and sights. Cannon Beach is one of the most photographed beaches in the US and is a must-see.

Additionally, one of the highlights of my trip to Seaside was driving up to Ecola Beach State Park, which is located just 20 minutes from the Inn at Seaside. The park offers one of the finest viewpoints of the Oregon coastline.

8.

Kathryn Riverfront Inn, Ascend Hotel Collection

Address:

545 Broadway Avenue

Price:

C$ 154-C$ 693/night

The Kathryn Riverfront Inn Ascend Hotel Collection is one of the best hotels in Seaside for accessibility. The hotel has ground-level suites featuring king-sized beds with roll-in showers, as well as higher-level suites with balconies that overlook the Necanicum River. At 34 kilometres long, it runs right through the town of Seaside.

The Kathryn Riverfront Inn has the benefit of being close to the ocean, while also providing guests with gorgeous riverfront views. In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful hotels in Seaside.

One unique amenity at this property is the 24-hour indoor heated pool. You can go for a dip in the early morning or enjoy night swimming here – an activity I always loved doing as a kid during my trips to Seaside.

9.

Starry Night Inn

Address:

811 1st Avenue

Price:

C$ 149-C$ 278/night

Starry Night Inn is one of the most unique hotels in Oregon. Located in a charming, historic Victorian home, there are just six suites. The eclectic décor and murals painted by local artists help make this one of the best hotels in Seaside for art lovers. Plus, the inn is only a three-minute walk from Seaside’s antique mall – a haven for thrifters.

I particularly appreciated the range of amenities on offer here, such as free breakfast, Wi-Fi, complimentary toiletries and even a BBQ area so you can grill with your travel companions in the warmer months.

Guests can expect special touches like fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning and handmade soaps in the bathrooms. If you’re looking for a hotel with plenty of character, this is the place to come.

10.

Inn of the Four Winds Seaside Oceanfront

Address:

820 North Prom

Price:

C$ 113-C$ 975/night

The Inn of the Four Winds Seaside Oceanfront has one of the loveliest hotel gardens in all of Seaside. Those looking to enjoy the area’s beach, riverfront and Pacific Northwest landscapes should make a beeline for this property.

The inn was one of the most relaxing stays I had during my time in Seaside. Since there are only 13 rooms here, it’s nice and quiet. If you can, go for one of the oceanfront suites, which are available on request. I loved the bathroom's spa-like amenities too.

The Inn of the Four Winds Seaside Oceanfront is located directly on Seaside’s promenade, giving you instant access to the beach. With its peaceful atmosphere and dazzling views, this is one of the best hotels in Seaside for a romantic getaway.
