I did not like the customer service front counter forcing me to pay an extra 4% to my credit card because I am paying with a credit card. This was not stated when i have booked myself to Sand Castles. Sand Castles should state that there is a extra of 4% if you have credit card as terms of payment. I was caught off-guard and was not expecting for the extra charges at all. When i asked them to show me (as your guest) a proof in writing about the 4% extra charge if i have to use a credit card as payment, they have nothing to show. The customer service told me that it was the owner of Sand Castles that told them to charge the 4% from anyone who uses credit card as forms of payment. I started to think that maybe they are going to split the money and keep it to themselves. I have good friends that owns hotels and restaurants in Boracay. I don't like Tourist / Guest getting ripped off. Honesty is the best policy and treat the guest right. Money is not important, if you are honest. I will pay whatever the cost will be for my stay. I have been around the Globe and this is not my first time in Boracay. I am not a green horn. I have been to Boracay numerous times, when cottages are still made of Nipa Huts back in the 70's and 80's. I should say I have been in Boracay more than 30 times as of today and have stayed in different hotels but none of them had charged me extra just because i have used my credit card. To guest, please don't get fooled. Be aware when checking in. They will ask you at your arrival that they charge 4% if you are to use credit card as payment. Don't agree with it and ask them to show proof in writing.
