This place is ten steps from the subway, the courtyard is beautiful. Staff is friendly. We didn't try the breakfast. When we arrived, the receptionist Ilcès (or Illès?) was very friendly and we also got an absolutely fantastic upgrade. This is a very good place to stay in Budapest!
Despite being on a very busy square and metro stop and right above a Burger King, once inside, the hotel turned out to have a pleasantly quiet courtyard. There is no street noise in the hotel room. It's a good clean room. The hotel is located on the edge of the 'party district' which is convenient (lots of bars and restaurants around the corner) but without the nuisance that usually comes with it. Metro line 2 stops directly underneath the hotel which is very convenient too.
My only complaint was that the hotel demanded cash payment even though the original booking said credit card. A week before our arrival I got a message from the hotel asking us to settle in cash as their 'credit card machine was out of order'. They allowed us to pay on the last day however (presumably because they could charge the room to my credit card anyway). I told the receptionist I prefered paying by credit card because it's more expensive to withdraw cash in the local currency (and I would be paying for the costs related to money exchange). After some insistence the receptionist somehow got the credit card payment to work again. It felt like a bit of a dodgy trick that took away from an overall excellent experience.
The location is good, near Metro..
my bed is still a mess. pillow and bed sheets mess. just a blanket that is folded, and even then it's not neatly folded.
Clean, everything functioning, staff is very professional and it`s located in a good part of the city where you can reach most tourist attractions and nightlife.
Breakfast and location is very good.
I have still not received my invoice for payment!! It's terrible! After reservation (three days before checking into a hotel) I received by mail hotel's message that it's impossible to pay with card and will have to pay with cash. But three days before it was impossible to cancel reservation! I have asked many times personal to give me ability to pay with card (I was travelling for Business trip and it was very important for me), as a result I paid with card, but the sum is still frozen on my card (I don't know why ) and I have not received the invoice . It looks like kidding and a scam. Called to reception, sent the letters to mail - there is no result. Never be there again.
