Pros:
The hostel is a magnificent old villa perfectly decorated and brand new. The situation is good, near the station and the coast promenade. The rooms and bathroom were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was very well prepared and ready according to the preferences that you choose the night before.
Cons:
The checkin experience was really horrible. I had to wait one hour at the door without anyone opening it. I called two exterior bells, a third bell in the garden and personally phoned the hostel without any answer. There were no lights on and I came to think that the hostel was closed. I finally had to contact the online "booking assistant", who very quickly contacted the owner and someone was able to open me. Surprisingly, the girl who opened (she said to be a guest too) but she "miraculously" managed to register and give me the key-card (despite being a guest???), it smells like a bad excuse. I admit that the staff apologized timidly, but there is no worse way to receive a customer. The wifi is very low in the first floor and there's only one socket for both nightlight or plug a device.

Pros:
The appearance of the Hostel internally and externally, it is a nice building close to the train station. The staff were also really friendly. The member of staff we met the next day at breakfast was really friendly too.
Cons:
We were in a top family room in the hostel and it felt really damp and cold and the bulb was out in the room so we used the lamp. We didn't make a fuss as we were leaving the next day and there was not much they could do about it in one evening. But would not have wanted to stay in that room for another night. Also the heater in the room didn't work either.

Pros:
Location is not far from station São João do Estoril and near the beach. Staff is really friendly.
Cons:
The sound from the train tracks was loud early in the morning until late in the night. Better soundproof windows can be helpful.

Pros:
I travelled to Portugal for 2 weeks by myself, with the intention of learning how to surf, and getting some October sun in Europe. BBH was nothing short of amazing: Haia, Renata, and Rebeca went out of their way on every occasion to make me feel comfortable and to accommodate my every need. These three kind ladies organised my surf lessons (and even dealt with some misunderstandings with the surf school on my behalf), they would rush to make me an early breakfast before my surf course, and would go out of their way to make sure my stay was pleasant. The hostel is 4 minutes walk from the train station, which has very frequent trains that go into lisbon (circa 35 mins). The hostel is 5 minutes walk from a lovely c.3km promenade that leads into Cascais (and has several quiant portuguese coffee shops on its route). It is perfectly located on the coast of Lisbon. For surfers - the hostel is close to carcavelos beach, and a 20-30 min drive to Praia Grande (which both have good waves). I enjoyed my stay so much that I missed my flight (intentionally) to stay an extra week. As a South African (from Cape Town), i can say that this place made me feel at home on the coast. Thank you to all the staff for being amazing!
