Overview

Built in 1924, The Carolina Inn is an area favorite with its vintage southern charm and great location across from the UNC campus. Guests looking for an alternative to the standard chain hotel enjoy the inn for its character and luxurious touches. This local favorite welcomes all travelers, but many guests are staying for UNC basketball and football games, as well as special occasions or events at the campus. UNC students, parents, and alumni are also reoccurring guests.

The Carolina Inn is situated in the heart of Chapel Hill, across the street from The University of North Carolina's beautiful campus and a five-minute walk from Franklin Street's restaurants and bars. Short walks will lead guests to Ackland Art Museum, the planetarium, and popular Kenan Memorial Stadium where the Tar Heels play. The UNC Hospital is also a short distance, but any guest can take the hotel’s free shuttle that travels anywhere within a three-mile radius.

Much like the Inn itself, this property's amenities and extra features have class and charm. The stylish on-site restaurant, Crossroads at Chapel Hill, serves local and seasonal dishes for all meals. Breakfast is not included in the rate, but the buffet and a la carte options are available. The buffet features hot and cold dishes, fresh baked goods, grits, sausage, and eggs. The bar also features serves local beer on tap and craft cocktails in addition to wine and smoothies. The grab-and-go market, Pittsboro Street Provisions, serves coffee drinks plus quick breakfasts and lunches to go. The upscale hotel also features an exceptional concierge service and dedicated staff.

The traditional rooms at the Inn are individually decorated with modern amenities and convenient features for all travelers.
