Cons: Associates tell me it will be a small wait to give them time to clean the car I reserved. I said "No Problem" then the manager tries to "upgrade" the rental to a more exspensive car. I decline and tell them i'll wait.
The manager continues with "Its only like 5-10 bucks more per day" and then just stares at me waiting for me to fork over more money. Again I decline. The manager leaves the office and returns less than 30 seconds later saying, "Just give him the upgrade, I dont feel like cleaning out the car he reserved" Just a bit of hassle, I would have much rather just picked up the car i reserved instead i was childishly going back and forth about upgrades when the whole reason he wanted me to spend more money was because he didnt want to clean out the car i reserved.

Pros: Friendly and thorough staff, free upgrade when the car I requested was not ready on time.
Cons: Uncomfortable car (corolla), free upgrade was a car with worse gas mileage so it ended up being more expensive for me
Cons: No one was at the counter and there was no note as to when they would be back. Obviously I couldn't pick up the car I'd reserved. This was at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Friday. Thankfully Avis' counter had a rep there and was able help me out.
