Cons: By the time we made it off our plane in El Calafate and got all our baggage, the company had given our rental away because we were an hour late. Nowhere on the rental agreement did it say that after an hour they would cancel our rental. Thankfully, we were not charged and were able to find a car somewhere else.
Pros: The car was fine, BUT - see my comments in the "didn't like" section.
Cons: First of all - the folks that work there don't speak any English - or very very little. I hope not to sound "Lingo-centric" in saying this, but I'd think a car rental agency in a tourist destination to have maybe one staff member who could speak English a bit. Here's the issue though... BE VERY CAREFUL when they do the car inspection - especially on the windshield. The roads around Torres del Paine are gravel. When they signed the car out to me, they made note of two small dot-scratches on the windshield. When I returned the car the agent on duty argued that those weren't noted on the inspection forms, and that we had a problem since I'd damaged the car. We finally resolved it, but it took time and nerves and a phone call to folks off-site. Make sure they prominently note any (and every) windshield flaw before you take the car.
