Hi I was charged twice for my rental car. I've emailed kayak and Hertz and have not heard back. I'm upset that I've paid an extra $870 for my rental and have not received any response as to how to be refunded for this mistake. Thank you

I liked that I could do everything on my phone, and that the drop off point was at my hotel. I did not like that the drop off point had limited hours with no drop box. I returned when they reopened but it took me a while to find the attendant.

The customer service agent was rude and rushed so much, calling the next person to the counter when I was paying and signing in the POS system. He also provided the wrong car information, taking me an extra half to find the car and get back into the line to fix it.

Friendly and polite staff for the car pick-up and drop-off. The experience at the counter could have gone better. There was a mismatch between my priceline voucher (obtained through a kayak search) and what the person at the desk had in the computer. This resulted in several iterations of being proposed higher rental prices and being told I had to pay tax (although the voucher had tax payed on it). No car was available in the category I chose, so I was offered an "upgrade" at an additional cost. This is the first time this happens, as most o the time companies offer it for free, as it's not the client's fault for the company running out of reserved cars in a category. I ended up choosing a lower class car, luckily for free (the only thing that was for free in the negotiations at the cash desk). This is an unacceptable experience at the counter, as clearly something went wrong (or did not work at all) with the data transfer between the online platform and the rental company.

The process of picking up/dropping off was easy and it was a great experience. The only issue there was, were damages to the vehicle that were not tagged when I picked up the vehicle. I am still waiting to hear back from hertz on the damage report that was made.

Pick-up went perfect, everyone super friendly and helpful, got in and out quickly.

Cons:

Airport drop-off at ACV was unclear how to leave vehicle after hours. 11am and nobody was there to receive the vehicle after Eureka office told me I could leave it there. There was a key drop where I left it, noted date/time/mileage, but beyond that it wasn't clear if it was OK to leave it.

Alamo presented a can do attitude from beginning to end. The car was spectacular and we had a ball driving the cobalt blue Mustang Convertible around Palo Alto, up and down Highway 1, 3 days in Carmel and spin down to Big Sur. I had wanted to rent a convertible for years, and finally did it! Thanks Alamo, check in specialist Jenny, and the whole Alamo team.

I was not given a damage slip or told to look at the damage ahead of time on my rental car. I was told (through an email) that a scratch was there that had not been there before my rental. I drove the car the entire time with the exception of valets at my hotel and did not cause damage. Because I did not get to inspect it and was not given a form to do so, I do not have evidence that something happened under my watch and just have to take their word. I also would have liked them to tell me when I turned the car in, as I did not have a chance to see what they are saying I did. It all feels pretty unfair. This could have been resolved if they had given me a damage form ahead of time.

Good car. Easy pick up and drop off. But the guy checking in the car at drop off was way too pedantic - customers before and after me were complaining as even the tiniest mark easily rubbed off was being circled. Luckily I photographed damage to my vehicle at pick up. Took way too long to do the drop off as I waited almost 20mins for the car Infront of me to be checked then almost ten minutes to check my car. Apart from drop off all good.

I liked Althea the car attendant. She was super friendly and helpful with my needs. She checked me in, took me to the car. Helped me with my suitcase. Showed me the little features about how to drive the car because I never seen the type of car dials before. She was all around cool. Give that girl a raise.
