Cleaning was not great. Was a bit of a pain not being able to access car park. Couldn't make room cooler - we found it too hot at night.
Design and tradition of the hotel. Our apartment has split level which is lovely. Swimming pool and Jacuzzi are wonderful.
The location is great. It’s within walking distance from the Christchurch bus station and the tram stops and New Regent Street is very nearby. The provisions in the suite include a kitchenette, dish washing machine and washing machine. It is interesting that the hotel is housed in an old government building where the ceilings are high. The gym is functional and swimming pool and jacuzzi are rather nice.
There is a flight of steps one can’t avoid in entering the hotel and although staff do come to help, it is a tad inconvenient.
The staff were friendly, provided good service, were welcoming, and informative in terms of what to see and where to go. The food was great. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were divine. The location was perfect for getting to all those inner city activities.
We were not offered a children’s menu. The single beds were too close to a small hand rail, which was unsafe access for children we were traveling with, perhaps staff could have offered an alternative room when we checked in. Or the website could have been more informative, The room was freezing. One heater did not work, which left us with a column heater. Cleanliness could have been better, and the facilities are looking tired.
We have stayed here about 4 times in the past year. The staff are great and the outdoor bar has an amazing atmosphere with live music most nights
No restaurant, but there were plenty nearby
