Nice, clean hotel with good amenities.
Overpriced. Almost $200 for 1 night. It's a lovely hotel but it's not spectacular, especially when the whole place is shut down by 10 on a Saturday night. Also, staff cannot keep up with the breakfast buffet. After 20 minutes of standing in line, we left.
The room was clean and comfortable and the outdoor pool and hot tub were good although loud due to the Trans Canada highway being right there. This was the trade off for easy quick departure when you a looking at a handy spot to recharge while travelling through.
Neither the front desk or the booking service advised us that there was a large wedding reception booked at the facility the night of our stay. I have no objection to weddings and good hearted folk celebrating, as a matter of fact I enjoy a good party myself but when the festivities are out in the parking lot and hallways and carry on well into the early morning hours It makes for a long night when you have tired young children and are travel weary yourself all needing a good rest prior to resuming travel early in the next morning. I do not expect establishments to turn down big booking opportunities but other customers should be appraised of such large groups and their intentions. Guests not sharing in the event should be made aware and steps taken to make sure they will enjoy there stay as well especially if you book their room right in the midst of the party goers. We should have been advised and given the opportunity to seek more suitable accommodations for a guest travelling with two young daughters looking to rest weary bones and prepare for an early morning fresh departure. This is the problem with online booking and it has occurred to my family before if you book ahead you can not back out of the deal without paying a huge fee even if the establishment does not meet advertised expectations. I am not looking for the cheapest deal I am looking for the best fit to my needs if I can find a combination of price and comfort , even better but I will pay to be comfortable and in this case no special deal was given and the property did not deliver on providing a comfortable stay.
Good location, rooms are comfortable and convenient to have a back door to the parking place.
Breakfast is too simple.
Buffet wasn’t that great. Seating at long tables with cutlery sporadically set up.
The hotel restaurant was excellent. Of all the meals I ate during 5 days in Newfoundland, I would rank dinner at the Clarenville Inn as my #2 meal (#1 being dinner at a fancy restaurant in St. John's). I'd also like to complement the women at the front desk; they were friendly, helpful and efficient.
The bathroom was somewhat cramped and the layout less than ideal (sink opposite tub and toilet, with an over-sink light that shone directly into the bedroom.
When you stay at Clarenville Inn in Clarenville, you'll be near ski lifts, within a 5-minute drive of Clarenville Marina and Bare Mountain Loop Trail. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
