The pool area was great. The dinner at Le Talbooth was delicious and loved the chauffeur service. We were a bit disappointed with our room - we’d booked a superior and it was a bit smaller than I thought it would be with no view. We asked if there were any other options and the woman I asked couldn’t have been nicer about it, showed me a couple of options and gave us a complimentary upgrade to a top floor one with lovely view to the Stour
The communication leading up to coming was a bit poor. I didn’t receive an answer to my email booking restaurants and spa treatments so had to follow up, and replies were a bit confusing and didn’t answer all the parts of my emails so had to keep following up. Then on the following day of our stay, we’d booked a spa treatment, but there had been a mix up with the timing (I had the email confirming the time but they had a different time booked for us) and couldn’t give us the full hour we’d booked. The message also hadn’t got through about which treatment we’d booked. They gave us a complimentary half hour treatment. My husband’s head massage was good but was glad my pregnancy massage was complimentary as it wasn’t great. All a bit rushed given the time mix up and she didn’t ask me to turn over half way through, so only got massaged on one side of my back... also didn’t seem that geared up for pregnancy, wasn’t offered extra pillows etc so ended up with a bit of a sore neck! Considering the price of staying, the interior design didn’t meet my expectations. It’s only slightly lower pricing than The Pig, Limewood etc so I was expecting similar feel. Quite dated and could do with repainting throughout, and a few split chairs/sofas in the lounge. It’s a bit of a strange mish mash of antique furniture/paintings with some pretty blingy lamps/furniture! Overall we had a good stay but some elements of service and comfort weren’t as good as I was expecting.
This is amazing hotel. Greta place to stay
The bed was comfy
The coffee was cold, no drinks menu. Had to walk around to look for staff to order a drink. Our en-suite was grubby
The rooms were a good size and clean and the beds were comfortable . The staff were very obliging and friendly Loved the hot tub and outdoor pool ( even though it was chilly and outdoor space was pretty untidy with wet towels etc lying around )
There isn’t much public space -when we arrived they were preparing for a wedding -so nowhere decent to sit for a coffee . Decor mediocre . The breakfast buffet was completely underwhelming and we were told nowhere for dinner on the premises -have to be shuttled elsewhere.Nice stay -but over priced for what it was .
Lovely room, great staff and excellent food
