Hostal El Grial

Staff tried to help any way they could even with limited english . Got a heater for me straight away . And when safe had a problem - simply gave me master key . Nice big room , lots of blankets , alwasy hot water for shower with good presure , good wifi , offers laundry services , breakfast with cheese , ham , bread , eggs , fruit and cereal. Also tea, coffee and juices . Good little place . Dont seem to have party crowd or youngsters - so no late night noise . Also they did offer to change room even without me saying anything about slight noise , but i didnt mind and i stayed where i was . So staff is flexible .

Room on ground floor , because of that can hear all steps on room above and even if people are speaking or snoring- didnt bother me much , but noted . Have a window above door . So if you left toilet door open - anyone standing on the stairs leading upstairs could see you sitting on toilet . Would reccomend to cover that with something . Luckily noticed that on first day . Can hear breakfast area next to room , but then again its nearly everywhere in peru .

Cute room with windows that opened onto the street for people watching. Very friendly staff and hearty breakfast. Great location for walking around Cusco's historic district.

The drain in the bathroom smelled like sewer, needed some attention. The room overlooked the street and was across from another hostal. Guests at the other hostal were noisy in the middle of the night when groups of people came back from partying at the bars. But guests at El Grial were respectful of peace and quiet...and lovely to converse with at breakfast.
