The beds were very comfortable
Tea making facilities would have been good
Staff were nice, otherwise.
The parking lot was a catastrophe. A real catastrophe! It would have been OK if hotel had no parking. At reception desk I was told that there is a underground parking. What I was not told was that, as soon as you enter the parking you realise it gets narrower, such that with closed mirrors it is still too narrow for a small bus like Sharan. And, even worse, there is a sharp edge that you have to turn around. Once you manage to get in, you realise that parking places are like metal cages (really strange! with an extra metal roofs! although underground) and a Sharan won't fit inside. There were 5 or 6 normal parking places, but of course they were full. The way out was even worse, and after a 5 minutes try to drive out (with multiple back and forths at two sharp edges, one right one left) I ended up with a damaged rim on my rear left wheel. And that was caused by a metal part which protects the walls! I am not a beginner at driving my VW Sharan. In my view the parking place is designed only for short and low cars, like a mini or a golf. Not more. In fact you see (but too late) from traces on the walls that many cars have been damaged on the way out. I had the right to be informed about this in advance, not discovering it on my own costs!
Location is very good.
Breakfast is good, especially Croissant and Yogurt. Location is convenient.
The location is very good and and close to the city center and the train station. You can walk in the neighborhood and find very nice places to eat or feel the pulse of the city. The staff were nice and friendly.
This is probably the worst Ibis Business hotel we've visited. There is absolutely no view from the window which faces some sort of a tilted roof. The neighboring balconies are very close and even during the day you have to keep the drapes closed. The underground car park is very weird. The cells for the cars are very narrow, dirty and rusty. The entrance and the exit from the car park are very steep and narrow. You can easily scratch you car if you are not very careful. The whole building from the inside is kind of old and used. Non of those are a stoppers but when you put them together you get a bad experience for a Ibis Business and those hotels are usually nice. Furthermore only for 4 more eurs per night you could get a room in a competitors hotel which is much newer, more convenient and at even better location.
Check into the ibis Darmstadt City and make the most of its close proximity to the city center - perfect for sightseeing, discovering the culinary delights and shopping. The main train station and congress center are just a 10-minute walk away. The greattransport links to other destinations in the Rhine Main area make this a great location for tours or business meetings.
