Lots of space in the room, clean fridge, good working wifi, bathroom is ok. Balcony with a nice morning view to the lake.
I had to wait in the restaurant queue to check-in for the hotel. Reception is 700m from the hotel room, not so good when you're travelling by foot and with big luggage. The restaurant (which is also the reception) opens at 10am every day. Checkout prior to that is not possible.
Really great value for money. Friendly staff! Thank you
The minimal design in the hostel rooms. The facilities in the stuga.
That it is more a hostel than hotel but the price is more hotel than hostel. The reception and place where you can get the included breakfast is about a kilometre away which is fine if you have a car but inconvenient and time consuming if you're on foot.
No one else was in my section of the house/hotel, so I had the place to myself. Nice, since it was shared toilet and shower room. Pleasant, quiet, with comfortable bed. Good to have wash basin/sink in the room. Good and adequate free breakfast, though not super-duper. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location, reasonably near Skuleberget and High Coast hiking trail (Höga Kusten-leden). The evening meal I bought at the Docksta Bar restaurant was delicious and served promptly.
There was no indication on their Booking.com site that the hotel rooms were 700 meters (!) away from the check-in restaurant/baren and breakfast location. There was only one very small sign (easily missed!) for "Docksta Baren" and only "Hotel Rum" on the house where the hotel rooms were located. NOWHERE was there a sign: "Dockstabaren Hotel" as it is named on the Booking.com site, though there was a sign on the Hotel house that said "Docksta Baren 700 meters <----". Confusing and a bit hard to find where to check in, (especially since there is also a different "Docksta Hotel"). Plus it meant a good bit of walking between the two buildings for a tired 70-year-old hiker who had just done the "fairly easy" but STRENUOUS climb up and down Skuleberget. Still, once I knew the situation, I was thankful for a clean and comfortable place to stay overnight for a good price.
No breafast before 08:00. The room is close to the road E4, noisy.
Dockstabaren Hotel offers rooms and cottages just 100 metres from ferries serving Ulvön island. Facilities include a summer outdoor pool, a terrace and à la carte restaurant. Skuleskogen National Park is 3 km away. WiFi is free. All accommodation options at Dockstabaren feature views of the Gulf of Bothnia. Some rooms have a flat-screen TV, a kettle and private bathroom. Cottages offer private kitchenettes. An ATM machine, guest lounge with TV and sofa is available on site. The restaurant serves lunch, dinner and dish-of-the-day specials. Set in the UNESCO-listed High Coast region, Dockstabaren is surrounded by nature. Fishing licenses can be bought at reception, while walking trails are found nearby. Swimming is possible at Norrfjärden Bay, 3 km away.
