For what the hotel offers the price was way too high. I was promised a room with city view. From my window I could see only the opposite wall. When I pressed my face against the window I was able to see some roofs of the city through a small gap. The breakfast was boring on the second day. My room was in a different part of the building, but the receptionist did not bother to give me directions. At checkin I had to sign a one page long agreement. My advice: Sit down, read all of it and if possible bring a lawyer for checkin. Never again!
Felipe and Chris at front desk. Felipe was awesome, accommodating and so helpful. The staff at the bar and in the dining room, specifically Diego, were awesome. Definitely will stay at The Green again.
Dim lighting or room lights that didn't work.
Very good location right at Stevens Green. Nice and not too big hotel, spacious room, large screen.
Nothing to complain, it is close to a busy street at night, so not the quietest place in Dublin on a weekend.
The room was unacceptable as the window faced an inner wall of another part of the building. It was above a noisy air conditioning unit. We asked to be moved and was given another room that was on the second floor above the first room. It was not as noisy so had to have the room as they said they were sold out. This was same inner wall but this time it faced another room. We had to have the curtains closed the whole time. Even if the curtains were open there was no natural light. There must be a number of rooms like this, all facing an inner wall. The hotel should warn guests of this situation. There is nothing on their website indicating this very unsatisfactory room problem.
The strong points of The Green are its location which is excellent, the breakfast which is very good and cleanliness which is acceptable. The junior reception staff at the desk were OK and checking-out was seamless.
Checking-in was a negative experience. There were difficulties with one credit card which could be (and actually were) solved by using another credit card from the same account. Yet the reception Manager who was called exhibited a rather aggressive attitude. Difficulty in accessing their WIFI despite a strong signal ( the reception staff could not solve this serious problem neither on our mobiles nor on their personal ones!), just average room size, lack of a fridge, faulty card power switch and entry corridor light and generally low value for money since the hotel is quite expensive, which would lead you to expect better overall facilities.
With a stay at The Green, you'll be centrally located in Dublin, steps from St. Stephen's Green and within a 5-minute walk of Grafton Street. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Limited parking is available onsite.
