OkaySep. 20095.6
The accommdation was quiet (despite it being close to the main road to Metalascanas), comfortable and spacious. It was easy to get to and well located for the local beaches and national park, the church of El Rocio is just across the road, close enough to get to easily but far enough away from the crowds that visit not to impinge on the ambience of the hotel. The children loved the swimming pool which was well maintained with a lifeguard always in attendance, Nice place to stay and a good centre for visiting the local area. The local resturarant is mixed for breakfast but good at other times, there are many other good places to eat offering good value within walking distance. We enjoyed the stay.
Hotel reception staff were mixed ranging from excellent to poor, we had a small problem with hot water which took too long to fix despite being reported to the maids and reception. Eventually a receptionist fixed it at 11pm. I speak some Spanish so no problem for me but but non of the staff appear to have any English which could be difficult.

Instead of a room there were two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room so that it was more like a suite. It was furnished with traditional pieces, but still had TV and refrigerator. I loved the two rocking chairs which we moved onto the little patio at the front. The hotel is gradually being added to, so there are some building works hidden behind fencing. The reception, restaurant and other facilities are beautifully decorated with antique and traditional furnishings.
The restaurant food was fairly basic, but we had difficulty ordering as the menu was only in Spanish and the waiter had English that was as limited as our Spanish. So it may well have been that we could have had something more satisfying if we could read the menu. (However, this was not the only place in Spain where this was an issue.)
