Pros: Tonia prepared the most beautiful breakfast and both her and Christos were a fabulous source of information.

Pros: We loved this place. The room was lovely, comfortable and very clean, the location is really good (you can walk everywhere from it) and the breakfast is amazing, homemade sponge cake included. Above all Christos and Tonya are outstanding hosts and made us feel super welcome to this small but magical island. We fully recommend it, and hope we can be back soon.

Cons: Everything was perfect!

Pros: Stayed there for two nights and from the frist seconds Christos and Tonia were super friendly and willing to give me any support i would need for my staying. The rooms are very clean and have all the conforts. Location is right behind the famous ‘Apollon’ theatre in Ermoupoli center.

Pros: The Hotel is just perfect! The hosts were very welcoming and we got helpful recommendations about the island. It was perfectly located only a two minutes walk away from the center but in a quiet street. The room was very cozy and modern furnished with lovely details and comfortable beds. It was super clean and the breakfast was great! We would definitely stay there again. The best Hotel we stayed in on our cyclade tour. Thank you very much for the absolute nice accommodation!

Pros: Excellent value for money.The owners were very welcoming and helpful - they phoned when we were on our way to ensure we knew the route from the port to the hotel. Our room was stylishly decorated and very comfortable with a great bathroom. Christos (the owner) gave us some good advice on restaurants and bars and was very helpful in terms of checking bus times etc on line. Breakfast served in the room was a selection of lovely fresh bread, nice jams and good coffee.

Pros: This has to be one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The location; the friendliness and attentiveness of the lovely hosts (thank you to all 3 of you); the view; the breakfasts; the thoughtful touches in the bedroom (nice products, coffee, limoncello, fresh flowers daily)... everything was perfect! We would absolutely recommend this place.

Pros: Stunning views. Outstanding customer care and service - from the tip off that the ferry from Athens was likely to be cancelled to accommodating by subsequent late arrival at 2am in the morning to carrying my case through the town - nothing was too much trouble. The owner and his lovely family went above and beyond all expectations. Gave me tips on where to visit and maps and books all about the island. Beautiful en suite room with quirky rock bed and rock shower features. The best / lightest omelette for breakfast (be sure to try the ham and Feta one) I’ve ever had. Greek yoghurt with honey and freshly baked bread with home made jams, fresh orange and coffee.

Cons: Having to leave.

Pros: We had a great experience throughout and the hotel is in a really unique setting. Our very kind host collected us from our previous hotel on the other side of the island and made sure we were happy and comfortable at all times. We had a delicious breakfast every morning on our own balcony with an incredible view of Ermoupolis. The rooms were spotless and in great condition.

Pros: Incredible view, beautiful rooms and bathtub, hosts picked us up from the port, drew us a map and even gave us some light reading books on history of Syros and Ermoupoli when we asked about it. Breakfast each morning looking out at the port was delicious and beautiful, walking through Ano Syros felt down to the tourist areas in Ermoupoli was one of our favorite parts of the day (10-15 mins downhill). A really beautiful spot, really glad we picked Ano Syros to stay in rather than Ermoupoli, it was a quiet and more relaxed perch in a beautiful room at Wind Tales, would absolutely go again.

Pros: The view of the Aegean, the moon and sun rise, the smell of wood and freshness, the Medieval aura, the lovely staff, the vintage decoration, the local taste and all the small details... make THE difference. “When you leave a beautiful place, you carry it with you wherever you go.” Windtales has definitely gained a place in my memory travel pouch.

Pros: Everything was perfect. They organised a taxi for us as they could not pick us up from the port which was appreciated. Staff were warm and helpful. They carry your bags as it is a bit of a rabbit warren in the old city which is great. Lovely coffee machine in the room. Shower was great, bed super comfortable.

Pros: The charming Guesthouse Lila had so much character and personality, the moment you enter and find yourself in the living area which also dubs as reception and kitchen, you felt instantly at home. There were wonderful personal touches throughout - antique furniture, paintings, it was breaching with charm. The entire house benefited from very tall ceilings which made the space feel even bigger than it was. And of course the hostess herself Lila was the best, she made us feel so welcome and looked after. She met us off the ferry and found out information about the ferry strike. The location was superb for exploring the city, although if you wanted to hire a car and drive to the beach, you'd probably need to park a few blocks away.

Cons: There's nothing to criticise. Our room didn't have a balcony or a view and there was a slightly noise restaurant downstairs, but this is really minor and you are in the heart of the city after all. Be mindful of the stairs if you have heavy luggage - there is no lift.

Pros: Lila and Dimitris are lovely hosts, in a lovely guesthouse, in a lovely location, on a lovely Island, in a lovely country. Couldn’t have hoped for a better place to stay. We hope to return one day.

Pros: Guesthouse Lila was incredible. First of all the rooms are really nice and very clean. Very comfortable and spaceous. Really beautiful as well and high ceilings. Breakfast was amazing. And above all the owners really are so warm and friendly. The absolute best. Nothing is too much for them. Also Lila the female owner is very caring and very keen on details. Pros: Lila guesthouse is a really really nice place to stay, quiet and beautiful. The rooms are big, with good air conditioning, The hosts are very polite and smiling people. I highly recomment this hotel.

Pros: The most gorgeous boutique hotel in Syros. Incredible location in a quiet, upmarket branch of the city centre, with the most beautiful terrace that accesses the crystal clear waters of the bay. Hotel itself is a beautifully restored 200 year old building, with high ceilings and spacious rooms with everything you could wish for. The staff are what make this hotel particularly special, and they could not have been warmer or more accommodating. The service was above and beyond. Definitely returning to Syros, and would only stay at the Apollonian Palace. Five stars.

Pros: The view from the roof top terrace is simply astonishing. Enjoying the simple but delicious breakfast of homemade pies, greek yoghurt and break with homemade fig and apricot jam was definitely the highlight of our stay. Bonus: breakfast is served until 11.30 AM perfect for long sleepers. The staff was very helpful and incredibly welcoming! The city’s only beach is just down a staircase on the opposite side of the road and basically everything is in walking distance, so we managed to roam the city each day and to still squeeze in beach time in the evening/afternoon.

Cons: The rooms were a little small, and due to the breakfast room/lobby being open towards the staircase it was slightly noisy in the morning when guest started to come for breakfast. Still, we enjoyed our stay a lot and would definitely recommend this place!

Pros: Lovely hotel - friendly welcome and a beautiful view in a lovely area of ermopolis. Homemade marmalade and banana bread for breakfast a lovely touch.

Cons: I would have loved coffee facilities in the room - but that is because I find it difficult to do anything in the morning without coffee first!

Pros: The swimming spot was lovely down maybe 50 steps to two platforms with ladders. The rooftop was lovely, we took our breakfast tray up there each morning and had a coffee up there in the evening. Breakfast was simple but lovely and filling. Short walk to centre in evenings. Some restaurants closed already in October.

Pros: The location in vaporia is perfect for going to the beach in Astoria, and is quieter than the main part of Syros. The staff were so helpful - with recommendations for beaches, luggage storage and organising a tray each morning for breakfast so that I could use the roof terrace.

Cons: It is an older building so the walls are a little thinner and it is possible to hear other guests (expected if you stay in this area I think). My room was at the back of the hotel, with a “city view” but actually of the pavement and the ground floor of another building (it might be better to not mention the balcony with view as then it is more of a bonus that you have a balcony). HOWEVER the latter point is somewhat mitigated by the ability to use terrace with beautiful views!

Pros: Great location with friendly, helpful staff. A great breakfast buffet. Wonderful views from the rooftop...a perfect spot for a late afternoon or evening drink before heading out for dinner.

Cons: The street in front of the property was noisy from motorcycles and people visiting a bar close by. there was construction in a nearby property which was creating noise in the morning too. it was hard to sleep with open windows.

Pros: I liked the design, furnishings, and amenities of my room at 1901 Hermoupolis. The AC, bedding, and bathroom were great. I liked that the host made arrangements for my check in outside the stated times and that he communicated via email promptly. I enjoyed the views from the property and its neighborhood that overlook the Ermoupoli harbor and Aegean Sea. (The owner shared an easy way to ascend to the property and to descend to downtown Ermoupolis.)

Pros: A beautifully designed room in a restored house. Interesting, with everything you need for a lovely stay. The town is amazing to explore, great recommendations for eating. Enjoyed breakfast in the garden.

Pros: Staff were helpful. Great views. Great breakfasts. They had various coffees and machines available. Great patio and lounge areas. Walking distance to buses and ferry. We had an early morning ferry and they allowed us to go to breakfast at 0610 am which usually does not happen.

Pros: The house with rooms was very central to the town in a very friendly area. The proprietor was very accommodating allowing us to keep our room until 2pm.

Pros: The location is just off of the main harbor and port making it convenient to get to after getting off a ferry as well as within minutes of great restaurants, cafes, shops, and the main city square. The simple rooms were cheerful and very clean fitted with modern AC units. Good value for your money. Would stay again.

Cons: - I was in my room one morning, I had the Air conditioning on full blast, the lights were on and I was in the washroom. The maid walks in without even knocking. I walk out of the washroom to find the maid in my room, I know she knew I was in there because you can hear the Air conditioner on from outside of the room. Afterwards when I saw her in the hallway I said to her in a very polite manner, I'll be heading out and she could clean the room now. But she was pissed off at me because she walked into my room without knocking first. I couldn't believe how ignorant and rude she was! Either than the maid everything else was okay.

Pros: Fantastically central hotel with a great view and right by the port so you can watch the ferries come in. It’s very useful of course if you are catching a ferry as it’s about a 20 second walk to the ferry! The staff are very helpful and the room very comfortable. There is a really nice terrace for relaxing and having a drink on.

Pros: Location is SUPER convenient to port, public bus, restaurants...pretty much everything. Staff is also AMAZING!! Each one of them are so warm and helpful, it's more like they're hosts vs. staff.

Pros: The room was comfortable, although a bit on the small side. The hotel is about an 8 minute walk from the ferry port so it's easy to get there as a tourist or visitor. Also, there are taxis that are parked across the street, so getting around town isn't too difficult. The front desk staff was very friendly. When I checked in, he showed me a map and pointed out the major attractions to see. He also gave suggestions for places to eat with good food. Within walking distance there are many options for food, cafes, and more. I'd recommend this place for anyone who's visiting Syros.

Cons: Everything was fine from my own perspective. The only issue was with the shower head which sprayed water from the side. A very minor issue, but overall, nothing to complain about.

Pros: I loved my stay at the Monte Kristo for many reasons. My room had a four-poster bed and a balcony with a table and chairs. It was quiet and a short walk from the centre. The hotel is in a beautiful old building full of character in a picturesque little corner of the town. What impressed me the most was my hosts who were exceptionally caring and ever present. My boat back to Athens was cancelled due to bad weather and Antonio asked for my phone number so he could reassure me with weather bulletins on departures the next day. I want to go back next year but for longer....
