The location was fairly good, though hard to find. The property boasts of views of the river but they don't bother to tell you that you can view it if it weren't for all the brush hiding the view. The room was larger than expected.
If you come here looking for a breakfast, you've come to the wrong place. We expected a Bed and Breakfast to provide breakfast. Ha! The first morning we received a plate with a waffle from a box with peach compote smothering it. That's it. Nothing else. No protein (sausage, ham, bacon). No eggs. No fresh fruit. One lousy, bland tasting waffle. No apologies. The second morning, our host "forgot" to make breakfast. Seriously! While the room was large, there is no heat. The host set up a few space heaters that provided little to no heat. The host, David, can talk your ear off about nothing. His need to talk was overwhelming and an assault on our senses so early in the morning while trying to swallow the bland waffle and had to get a real breakfast elsewhere.
We had the Cottonwood room which looks out over the river. It was great. Very quiet. Wonderful hosts. Great breakfast. I would not want the room next to us as the motion sensor light goes on in front of their window when we came home.
The owners were charming and helpful.
the B and B was run down.
"A WAFFLE WITH A VIEW" Come for the view, stay for the experience. There could never be sufficient space to describe how nice this is , but David and Diana are a treat not to be missed. The room, breakfast and all are A++. We are already planning our next trip to the Bisti Wilderness area and will be lodging here again. It is closest thing to staying with family, assuming of course that you actually like your family.
David & Diana were very pleasant hosts. The 100-year-old home is right at the river's edge! She fixed us waffles with spiced apples for breakfast. The rooms are rustic with cement floors. There are heaters, a fridge, microwave and lots of lamps.
I found a hair in my waffle and my husband found one in his coffee cup. :( Since it is their home, they allow the cat to lounge on the dining table--thus the hairs.
