Maswik Lodge is located inside Grand Canyon National Park, originally built in the 1960s. The property once belongs to the Motor Lodge, constructed in the 1920’s by Fred Harvey Company. In the 60s, many of the cabins were demolished and replaced with modern, two-story hotel rooms, with only the original stone pillars remaining to remind people of the origin of this property. The lodge offers 250 rooms and cabins that are situated among beautiful Ponderosa pine forests, just about a quarter-mile from the edge of the Grand Canyon.
The property consists of a main lodge, which houses the front desk, gift shop, and the Maswik Food Court and Pizza Pub. Guest rooms are spread throughout two buildings located nearby, known simply as Maswik North and South. North rooms are located in 12 two-story buildings with outside room entry. Guest rooms feature a coffeemaker, refrigerator, individual climate control, flat-screen TV with satellite, in-room climate control, and other creature comforts. South rooms, which are slightly smaller, are nearby in 6 buildings, which also feature outdoor entry and the amenities listed above. The hotel has a select number of accessible guest rooms.
This lodge offers free area shuttle services, as well as a front desk with limited hours. It is also close to the Grand Country Backcountry Information Center, Hopi House, Lookout Studio, and Maricopa Point. Plus, all of the attractions and outdoor adventures of the Grand Canyon and Grand Canyon National Park are right at the front door.
