The location is absolutely perfect. We did our hikes straight from the property and didn't need to use the car. There are a few cafés and restaurants nearby too.
Besides the location, the Pinnacle Holiday Lodge did not meet our expectations (we were on a 5-week trip in Australia, so we have seen quite a few other hotels for comparison). The lady at the check-in was clearly not in a good mood and it set the tone for our stay. The lodge felt like it froze in time back in the 90ies. There was no WiFi in our room. According to the in-room information, there is internet access "at times" near the reception. There were signs everywhere stating what we allowed or not allowed to do and it didn't make us feel welcome. The pool was closed. It seems to me like the owners are just running out the clock with this property. The experience was sub-par for the price and we will most certainly not come back.
Room very 70's and in need of a makeover! e.g. brown bathroom tiles, plastic shower cubicle, fluorescent room lighting
Bed could be larger and mattress softer and more comfy . Apart from that excellent.
Screen door in bathroom was torn and let in hundreds of insects. Told management.
Brilliant location near main street shops, cafes, bakery. As a unit for disabled, which was not why we chose it, it was very well thought out out and provided for. That probably accounts for the 150$ per night tariff, but the location made it worth it. Indoor pool, outdoor space to enjoy the mountain views and kangaroos! Parking easy, close the fascinating Botanical Garden, relaxed with good facilities.
Only not having any salt and pepper in the cupboard!
