Staff were generally very helpful, but when we returned to collect our baggage which we had left with them on our last day after checkout their attitude had clearly changed and they gave the impression of wanting to get rid of us as quickly as possible. This is a stupid and short-sighted attitude since guests are left with this as their last impression of the hotel. They need to be told that one remains a valued guest even after the money has changed hands for ones room! This will affect my likelihood of staying in a Shangri-La hotel again - at the high room rates one expects top class service, and I have never been treated like this at top Marriotts or Peninsula group hotels. Overall, however, the stay was good.
The staff always greeted me by Mr. Adams, they always made sure they knew my name in advance, very impressive !
