Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was amazing! The bed was super comfortable and our room was absolutely spotless.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: By the Brae was a superb BnB. The location was perfect, facilities clean, shower pressure fantastic, with the wee touches of orchids on the breakfast table, nice cutlery and scottish fine soap company all adding to the experience. The hosts were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was delicious!
Cons: We wish we could stay for longer instead of just the weekend. Would prefer a whole week there to explore the surroundings and beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer. Next time for sure..
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was excellent!!! Location for us was perfect as it was not in the centre of Inverness but instead in the country.
Cons: nothing it was all excellent.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard & Jenny made us at home. Accommodation perfect, quiet and homely. Breakfast was perfect too with a great choice. We’ll be back.
Cons: Nothing. Simply perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent! Nice place, Nice House, nice bedroom and excellent breakfast. The couple is really Nice:) All perfect... Diane and April
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard and Jenny were absolutely fantastic hosts. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel welcome. Richard provided so many helpful tips and suggestions for local attractions and places to visit as well as giving us a great overview of local pubs and restaurants etc. We were kindly given a complimentary room upgrade and the room was lovely and spacious. Room was spotless and had all the facilities you need. Perfect location, just 10 minutes drive from Inverness City Centre in a quiet rural area. Breakfast was beautiful!! Perfectly cooked with tasty, fresh produce (the sausages were our favourite!). Every morning we looked forward to it as well as having a chat with Richard/Jenny and fellow guests. Overall we loved our stay at By the Brae and felt we wanted to stay longer. Such a lovely place that makes you feel right at home when you step in. Wouldn't book anywhere else in Inverness.
Cons: Nothing!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at the Oöd Dryne House, the tips for the restaurants and the sightseeing were extraordinary!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This is the second time we have stayed at Old Drynie. It is a luxury B&B. The owners are very hospitable the accommodation leaves very little to be desired and the location is delightful with views from the garden over the Moray Firth, whilst also being a short drive from Inverness.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The environment is incredible, the room was perfect and very clean and the owner was very nice!!!
Cons: It takes 10 minutes from the city center, but it is worth it!!!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Breakfast was very good and they were very accommodating of us leaving early the next morning.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Big room and bathroom
Cons: Paying cash makes extra work
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The setting of the home is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. I fell in love with the place. My husband and traveled with my brother and his wife and we shared the Secret Garden. We each had our own room and bathroom and then shared a common living area. It was a great place to relax in the evenings... Deidre and Alisdair were amazing hosts.
Cons: The property was fabulous, no complaints at all. It is a bit off the beaten path... So don't plan to walk anywhere except along the riverfront. But you will have to drive to any restaurants or shops.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very spacious. Superbly furnished.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The house is located in an awesome place, the very well kept garden is inviting and Alasdair and Deirdre, the owners, make you feel at home. They are absolutely attentive and warm-hearted. No detail is left unattended. We were located in a lovely and spacious room next to a secret garden. It had everything a guest might need and more! The breakfast is served in the main house. It is really very good and the table is set with a magnificent china. I strongly recommend this B&B. One more thing, thank you so much Alasdair for your helpful tips to visit Cairngorm National Park!!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Liz and Andy provide exceptional B&B with attention to detail and they could not be more helpful. Breakfast was a treat every morning .We will return! Louis and Marie (Glasgow)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Liz the host was absolutely superb. The room was lovely and the breakfast was superb
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was made to order. Excellent portion sizes and a good amount of choice. Liz (co owner) is attentive and strives to give you your needs. The room we stayed in was an excellent size. Comfortable bed and plenty of space. The bathroom was a 4 piece suite. The walk in shower was enormous and overall excellebt quality. Room was well furnished and equipped. I brought my labrador with me. We had a downstairs room with sliding door (separate from main entrance) which was handy for taking him out on walks. The location is quiet and within 5 minutes walk from the beach.
Cons: The only criticism I had (very very small) was the way in which the coffee was brewed. French press (always a good way to brew) but was either pressed too firmly or the grounds were too fine for the press. (This isn't really a criticism in the grand scheme as I've had to think very hard).
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly hosts. Immaculately clean and very comfortable. Freshly cooked breakfast with lots of choice. Great attention to details.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was amazing- one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a trip away. Liz couldn’t do enough to offer anything you wanted and the menu was delicious! Liz was so accommodating and really helped us have a relaxing stay in a time where it could have been as well just staying at home.
Cons: Absolutely nothing- we had a perfect stay, and we (And our doggy!) were so impressed with the room and facilities.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Outstanding hosts who go the extra mile to ensure a. Very comfortable stay Lots of extra touches Simply wonderful breakfast which kept us going all day! Great location with lovely walk to the town. We have just left and are already looking to book later in the year Thanks to liz and her lovely family x
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Ideally located near the beach and the golf course and very accessible to most tourist spots up in the highlands. Liz was an amazing host and ensured our stay was enjoyable. Exceptional breakfast served with love and kindness at the Sandown is a must-have as well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was first class and the location just right . Also just right for a stay with a large dog with easy access to outside .
Cons: Not a thing .

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Friendly hosts. Great breakfast. Very clean and a good location if you are not looking to be in the centre of Inverness or as a base to then start the NC500. Near airport too. Quiet and very comfortable nights stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice basic room, had everything i needed. Excellent continental breakfast. Nice area

Cons: Right by the sea
Excellent 10.0

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Hosts Jess,Dougie and Holly were extremely friendly and welcoming, Also they were very helpful. Room was immaculate, Breakfast was delightful and very filling. An amazing stay, very grateful to the hosts for their remarkable hospitality 💜 Thank you. Will definitely be back to visit again.
Cons: There is zero complaints, Everything was exceptional ❤
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The host’s friendliness and the proximity to a seaside walk.
Cons: Nothing
Good 6.2
Pros: The facility was very comfortable and breakfast was good.
Cons: The problem upon check in was that the hostess was very un hospitable. She was very rude to the couple who checked in just before us. (I spoke to them that night and the following morning. They did not feel welcome at all). As for my wife and I....my wife mistakenly booked only one person. The hostess wanted an extra £30 for the extra person. Does that seem excessive for an extra breakfast?. Well, I did say breakfast was good...but not for that amount. Oh well....at least she lightened up after I gave her the cash. (My wife wasn't happy but it was our vacation and I didn't need conflict)

Pros: Good breakfast, big room and comfortable bed. Landlady knowledgable about local wildlife, which is what I was interested in! Location OK for my purposes but you do need your own transport.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Owner (Fiona) was very friendly and engaging; the property peaceful and set in a lovely, rural setting; wi-fi was excellent and the breakfast was cooked and as big as you'd like. Although Google Maps was a godsend to find the place it was worth it.
Cons: Very little.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a wonderful stay and dinner at Culloden House. The whiskey collection and the walled garden were a real treat! Excellent service to top it all off.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast excellent. Staff excellent.
Cons: The house looks rather tired and needs re-decorating in sympathy with its eighteenth century architecture. The present colour scheme in the public rooms is insipid and bland. The back of the house -the exterior- looks a bit tatty.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Liked everything about Culloden House. Olde Worlde charm and fantastic service. Staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly day and night. Service here much better than many 5 star hotels I've stayed in.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great bedroom and excellent service and food
Cons: All good
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Truly stunning hotel !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are amazing and made us feel so welcome. They are more than pet friendly and Bruce couldn’t put a paw wrong. The food was outstanding and all brought to our room. And well situated for walks and site seeing. The walled garden was a bonus surprise.
Cons: Nothing, we had a great time and we will definitely be staying again.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: EVERYTHING. This was a very quiet romantic and comfortable place to stay and will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!
Cons: Can't think of anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location, polite and gentile staff, outstanding dinner and delicious breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Eveything - excellent accommodation especially for those with an interest in history having close links to the Battle of Culloden Moor which is nearby.
Cons: Nothing. All good.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good Good location for Dolphins, coastal
Good 6.3
Pros: Granola and yoghurt for brekky was very good. Bed and bathroom comfortable. View from breakfast room great.
Cons: Inconvenient not being able to check in until 5pm. Having to remove shoes before entering very annoying and uncomfortable. Can hear everything and everyone. No privacy. The power point being switched off daily even though we were trying to charge devices. Tiny tv on the wall makes it hard to see any text.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was first class
Good 7.5
Pros: Had full English breakfast and it was fine but would have also liked to have yoghurt but this was only available as an option instead of full English which I thought strange
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Made very welcome beautiful scenery
Cons: No complaints about anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very knowledgeable owner, comfy room spotless ensuite. Delicious breakfast served in conservatory over looking bay. They had binos to borrow to spot Dolphins. Amazing stay.
Cons: Nothing
Good 7.5
Pros: Beautiful location and a very close walk to the point to see the dolphins.
Cons: Not stayed in a b&b before so not sure what the benchmark should be, but I was very aware I was in someone’s house, which was a bit awkward. Very friendly hosts though.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Very comfortable bed. Room furnished with everything we needed. Excellent.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens and scenery. Loved the hot tub and swimming pool. Not over crowded and very clean.Meals were good and staff very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast was very good and location excellent. Gardens, although small, were well kept. Staff were attentive, very polite and no communication problems.
Cons: Certainly nothing to complain about. As far as aesthetics go, a nice plush carpet throughout the common areas would be good. A feature (possibly water feature) would be nice on the grass between hotel and beach.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was outstanding with a very interesting menu. The pool, sauna, gym are very nice, the view is amazing. The beach is only a few steps away and we had a wonderful time.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: A great base for day tripping and a comfortable retreat to relax while enjoying good scenery.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast was good with a wide choice. Unfortunately on one occasion our hot breakfast took far too long to arrive. Eventually a member of staff realised there was a problem & went to investigate.
Cons: The dinner menu we found rather restricted so we struggled to find something suitable.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The view was fabulous. Hotel in beautiful location with direct access to beach esplanade. Good service from upbeat staff who have good systems in place to keep customers distanced and safe. Nice leisure facilities. Good breakfast choices and an afternoon tea was excellent at £25 per person.
Cons: The bedroom was very hot and there was no way to turn off a heated towel rail in the adjoining bathroom which impacted on room temperature. No air conditioning in room. Had to leave bedroom windows wide open and our bedroom was over patio/bar area. It wasnt very noisy but if air con was in room we could have closed window. An error with bill (double payment taken) was quickly rectified but shouldn't have happpened. No routine cleaning of our room over a 5 night stay because of covid procedures.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location, friendly and welcoming staff, and fab rooms.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Pleasant efficient staff. Room was ready despite short notice. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen provided food tho’ dining room closed.
Cons: Very hot but no air conditioning; a minor point…

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, the views from the room and dining room were beautiful. Rosanne and Ian were warm and welcoming and helpful with information on where to go. The B&B is full of beautiful home touches, feeling very comfortable. We were very pleased to have the opportunity to see their sheep, sheepdogs, and goat and appreciated Ian doing a working sheepdog demonstration.
Cons: We could not have asked for anything better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a great stay! Very comfortable. The family was very friendly and accommodating! Justina, our caretaker, was also so friendly and cheerful!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Host and staff were lovely. Great facilities, well cooked good breakfast, with lovely view. Host recommended we eat dinner at a local place which turned out to be excellent, we were so pleased to for the host to recommend, book us the table and give directions etc. En-suite bathroom facilities were excellent.
Cons: I think the bed frame was ready for a refresh. It was great having a fridge in the room but it was a bit noisy. I felt the overall cost was maybe too high but it was a very busy weekend in Inverness (marathon was on) so all accommodation was in demand, and booking.com take a hefty share of the price you pay.

Pros: Lovely welcome from owner and husband. Super comfortable bed and brilliant power shower. Location perfect for relaxing and only a short drive to Inverness for some shopping. On a farm surrounded by a variety of animals. Great choice at breakfast to suit all. Plenty parking. Found a place we will return to often.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful property with a gorgeous communal sitting room to relax in. Breakfast was spectacular!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I LOVED the dispensers of soap and body wash in the shower! This was ingenious and very helpful. Also I loved the bathroom mirror that had a clock in it and lights. This is very helpful to a traveler who needs the bathroom in the middle of the night, and is unfamiliar with the surroundings. The lights were very appreciated. The breakfast was pretty good - the scrambled eggs were a little too runny for my taste. But other than that it was good.
Cons: Maybe this is a European practice not to use a top sheet in the bed...? But in multiple locations in our two week journey we stayed in places where there was no top sheet. Also the comforters were beautiful but VERY heavy and much too warm on the bed for that time of year. At Leanach farms we used the coverlet, but since there was no sheet I kept wondering if another couple had slept under it before us and whether or not it had been laundered. It was also a little bit itchy against my skin since it was textured. Sheets are smooth - not textured. I think it would be more energy efficient to use a top sheet, and then you would not have to wash the coverlet or bedspread very often at all. In addition I like to use a wash cloth in the shower - a small square cloth to wash with. I had to buy a nylon scrubby thing a few days before that because our previous rental didn't have a wash cloth either. I think perhaps I should start bringing some with me from home when I travel!
Excellent 8.5
Pros: The place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty.
Cons: At five to ten (the checkout time), the call went out. We were to be out the door by ten. The room across the hall from us ran out with things hanging from their suitcases. We ran and loaded the car, were told, no you have not left anything behind. Then my husband discovered his briefcase missing and had to run in and get it from our bedroom. All relaxation was gone from the way we were rushed out the door. I have never had this happen at any other B&B we stayed in.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: These are lovely apartments but maybe not suitable for young baby quite a steep set of stairs my fault though for not checking apart from busy traffic the apartment was great
Cons: At the front very noisy traffic
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The size of the apartment was huge. The children loved playing hide and seek in all the rooms. Great to have dinner in one room and then relax in another.
Cons: Nothing. The apartment was ideal for our family break.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything, it was so spacious, outdoor setting , rooms, dining area. There’s nothing to dislike about this property.
Good 7.0
Pros: We love this area so much and have stayed nearby a few times previous to this visit. Avoch is lovely, lots of friendly people taking care of the parks opposite the apartment. There's a basket ball court and tennis court opposite as well as a great kids play park and dog walking area right next to it. There's a wonderful fish and chip shop and local supermarket so everything is easy to get to. The check in was easy and the size of the apartment was fantastic with everything we needed. The hosts were brilliant, the fire alarm went off on monday night just before 11pm (yes, this was our third night of noise!) and was sorted out promptly. When we arrived there were lovely touches such as eggs, milk, butter, bread and a few local treats - thank you! Another point about noise: the plumbing is a little noisy which is to be expected in a building rich with history, just keep this in mind if you have children that wake at the slightest bit of noise!
Cons: There was a party in the same block that took place on Saturday night which started at 7pm and lasted till 2am, I kid you not. It was loud and rowdy and spilled into the street. Now I enjoy 90s bubblegum pop like the rest of us, love a bit of Whigfield and Vengaboys and the sounds of people partying/shouting/karaoke sourced by cans of cider and eruptions of yappy dog barks every 15minutes, but at full volume until 2am after a 7 hour journey with kids under 7 was pretty tough! The party on sunday night lasted till midnight which was better! I don't blame the hotel for this at all, but just to warn anyone coming for a quiet holiday, it would depend on who had booked out the other rooms, especially the largest room that accommodates many.
Good 6.0
Pros: Very clean...looks newly refurbished , and well equipped kitchen. Lovely welcome pack of bread, biscuits, eggs and milk in the fridge! Helpful communication with owners !
Cons: Badly located..the apartment is very close to the main road , traffic and drunken noisy pub leavers could be heard until the early hours from both bedrooms(we were in Red Kite apartment) .. car park is quite far away from the apartment....difficult to carry luggage, food etc . Pictures on the booking site can be misleading as the apartment is not situated as near to the beach/ lighthouse ect as the pictures suggest !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything that was needed was already provided. Great location, right next to a park and courts for the kids and plenty of grassy bits for the dog. All in all a great stay. Lots to do in and around the area and dolphin's to see at chanorary point.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Easy check in, lovely large apartment in nice little town,
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely apartment, kids were delighted with having ensuite everything, about the first time there's not been fights for the showers! Quiet despite being on the main road, clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back :)
Cons: Nothing :)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Couldn't have asked for anything better. Comfortably housed our family of 5 and wee pooch. Great location, lots of beautiful scenery. Lovely touch by the hosts with a few essentials provided and fully equipped for all our needs.
Cons: Nothing!
Okay 5.4
Pros: Room was clean.
Cons: Only one towel between the two of us. No staff were around so had to fend for ourselves. Shower would not drain. Would have liked the opportunity to have had breakfast before we left but there was little chance as no staff were working.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Reception staff were very welcoming, room was clean and adequate.
Cons: The mattress, very soft. The lack of information in the room, no telephone numbers for contacting reception etc No one directing residents at breakfast, self service was okay but we had to constantly ask for plates, mugs cutlery.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Such a lovely hotel, booked last minute due to being let down by another hotel. Receptionist was lovely and went above and beyond when she realised my mum was disabled and needed a disabled access room.
Cons: Nothing, was a lovely hotel
Good 6.0
Pros: Location was great as we were visiting family
Cons: Breakfast was really poor and bed was quite small
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Due to C19, breakfast not as good as usual.
Cons: Nothing really.
Good 7.6
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Great buffet breakfast. Roomy rooms. Located not too far from a bus stop, so easy to get places. We stayed here 4 years ago, and liked it.
Cons: Would be nice if they had transportation to/from train/bus stations, but getting there via the city bus is not too difficult (as long as a bus driver doesn't mislead you as to when your next bus really is). It was our most expensive room on the trip.

Good 6.0
Pros: Location good for Nairn golf club. Staff were very friendly except for waiter/manager in the restaurant
Cons: The restaurant was the most lifeless dull room ever. They could do with some background music as everybody was just whispering at their tables as the silence was deafening. Also I ordered the Sunday lunch roast beef. When it came out, there was only two tiny thin pieces of dried out beef. When I asked the manager who served me was this all the meat that came with the Sunday roast he said “yes”. It was smaller than a child’s portion, I asked for more meat and he brought back two more tiny dried out pieces of meat and added £5 onto the bill!!! I noticed on their website they have a picture of the roast beef which resembles nothing like what I got. Needless to say we didn’t dine in the restaurant any other night after that experience.
