Basically, room was clean and hotel location was perfect, right next to old city square. Building from outside and name seemed promising.
I can't remember having such a bad lodging experience for years when traveling. Got the boooking because the hotel location. Once arrived, I found it is not what I expected. Starting with the reception that looks just like in American criiminal movies scene from a road motel. Just right next to elevator, behind locked glass, in the darkness there is a receptionist looking at every visitor. They don't see daylight there, ever. Then, we found that actually all hotel rooms are only in the attic, just above a bowling room!? So, hotel guests enjoy the game all night long (sounds and vibrations). Now, when it comes to the breakfast, this is what motivated me leaving a review. This was the poorest breakfast ever. A small plate of ham (for all hotel guests?!), few slices of cheese, and a plate of scrambled eggs were the most noticeable things for eating. I ended up eating a bread slice with butter only. General thing should be managed for this place in order to avoid disappointment and bring back a great impression from the hotel exterior and location. Cheers
Secured parking, cleanness
Quite disinterested staff
Don't be put off by the reception area - the rooms are in really good order and had everything I needed. At the price I paid there is little to complain about - this is a simple tourist hotel in a busy tourist area and considering it was high season I was lucky to get such a well situated hotel - Located slap bang in the middle of the town - and with free parking 'round the back'. The lift is now working again. Staff were friendly and helpful - even considering that with the night porter we had to resort to "mime" for communication - as my Czech is limited!
In the summer the upper floor rooms will be very hot indeed and the lift stops at the floor below - not so good if you have limited mobility. The breakfasts were nothing special - but then I have found that, in Eastern Europe they seldom are - at least there was a choice and the service was quick. If you are a light sleeper who also likes the window open then note that the hotel is right next to the town clock tower (bing-bong-bing- bong) and there will often be some late night noise from folks going home after the bars and restaurants close.
excellent position, private parking (free- which is rarity in CZ!), smoking rooms, free internet
