The hotel was very clean and the stuff very helpful
The hotel looks very modern. However, the rooms look a bit old fashion
Good location. Very convenient
Outdated hotel. Feel like living in the 80’s hotel
The desk staff were very helpful, and helped us book taxis when we needed them. Our bathroom was very clean, so much so that it almost felt like part of a completely different hotel.
I feel bad railing this hard against the hotel after the staff were so nice to us, but people should be warned: -BEWARE ANY SMOKING ROOMS. I do not say this lightly. I was a pack-a-day smoker for 5 years of my life, and cigarette smoke does not bother me. We stayed in other smoking rooms during our time in Japan - usually, this just means there is a faint odour of cigarette smoke in the room. Normally, smoking rooms have a dedicated air purifier to keep it this way. NOT HERE, THOUGH! The stench of ashtray (ashtray, not smoke) is soaked DEEP into everything - the carpet, the curtains, the furniture, the walls. Everything. The smell is overpowering and you will never be unaware of it. The "air freshening" system consists of the hotel AC unit, which blows in cool air, and a window about 200mm wide in the corner of the room (that is almost completely permanently blocked by a heavy curtain) that serves as the only means for air or smoke to escape. Again, I was a pack-a-day smoker for 5 years, and even to me the smell was so bad I literally gagged when I walked into the room. I'm not being theatrical. I gagged. -The hotel is BADLY run-down, and it shows. It feels as if they have spent no money on maintenance since the hotel was built. Scratched or damaged paint, stained carpets, faded signs. -If you've stayed almost anywhere else in Japan, you will be shocked by how much this hotel will cost you - especially considering what you're getting. When we booked, it was either this, or a love hotel for less than half the price. I am not being facetious when I say that I badly wish we'd chosen the love hotel instead.
