Pros: Fantastic place - recently refurbed I think so rooms, public areas etc. Were all really nice. Good pool Fantastic staff - really helpful. Recommended us a fantastic restaurant - awesome!!
Cons: Nothing!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Well-kept modern hotel/bungalow style accommodation with a huge swimming pool that is especially suitable for childrens. We enjoyed that we were the only Westerners amongst Thai families. Our daughter especially enjoyed playing with the other kids. The hotel is not located at the beach: hence private transport is required for enjoying the area.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Pes villa was another the best resort in khanom if you are looking a private pool to stay- in, breakfast was satisfying, the owner was welcoming, we stayed at room 101 the room was clean and well equip except for the window are not tinted(people passing can see you thru the windows) but overall we had a wonderful stay even for just a night. Thumbs up to the owner and staffs.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was o.k. on the first day. 3 small rashers of streaky bacon and an egg (our choice). The reception staff were very helpful arranging our taxi for our onward journey to Surat Thani. Many thanks.
Cons: Breakfast:: On the 2nd day no bacon and eggs were available. Not much choice for fruit and we weren't too keen on the oriental food. No tea bags provided f.o.c., These had to be paid for, never known this at any other Hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great family, that owns that place. Very nice and kind people. Our first stay they just prepared us a lovely lunch-package. We came back, because we loved the place so much. The second stay they gave us an upgrade and one night, when the restaurant was already closed, the cook just came by and brought us streetfood. Because we had to leave in the middle of the night, we couldn´t have lunch and he made us a lunchpackage, very adorable. I lost a charger and they just called me and wrote messages to get my address so they could send the charger to us. So caring! Really the must-go hideaway. A lot of greenery, great swimming-pool, massage, coffee-shop, sustainable, great design, perfect thai and western breakfast, great heart-warming atmosphere!!!

Pros: Right on a beautiful beach. Very secluded, peace and quiet. They arranged pick-up from Surat Thani. Also a dolphin trip. They also rent scooters. Nice restaurant. Friendly owners Julien and Stephanie. The new beach villa looked very nice.
Cons: The bed was very hard, you can feel the bed springs. A matress bad needed. Sounds from the adjoining room can be heard quite easily (we had the bungalow for 2 persons).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tourist choosing Khanom as their holiday destination for certain reasons will definitely like Le petit Saint Tropez. It is exactly what Khanom is about. Little cosy resort with only 3 bungalows but an excellent restaurant with a brillant mixture of french and thai cuisine. The french couple running this business is very nice and helpful. You can get every thing needed like rent a bike, organize trips to see dolphins, or hiking caves ... Rooms are lovely decorated. If you are traveling with kids the double bungalow with two sleeping rooms is best choice! There is newly available even a beach-house next to the resort with stunning views to the sea from the balcony. Best value for money in Khanom!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful set up. Great beach.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great sea view, felt very welcome. Tasty food. Everything went smooth and friendly. Pool is small but nice. And again. The sea view. Just amazing. Enough to do around there but you need transport. Pink dolphins, fish spa, waterfall. All very Thai. A place to come back to! Thank you again!
Cons: Nothing. Dogs on the beach disturbed me a little, but others liked it.

Very comfortable bathroom. Nice restaurant with good food, wine and cocktails. Spectaculair view, white sandy beach with palmtrees.

Pros: Fabulous place. Great location. Wonderful apartment. Helpful host. Lovely pool and grounds.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were made very welcome. The whole experience was very friendly and relaxing. We didn't really require any help ourselves but it was good to see other people's needs being looked after well. PC, who runs the property, is a very nice person.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bungalow style was cool--spacious and a downstairs hangout area with a picnic table. Balcony upstairs as well. The main door needed a good bit of repair and a few lights were busted but nothing major. Pretty decent price for it all--off the beaten path so I'd recommend a motorbike to get around. The restaurant was solid but seemed a bit understaffed. Nice pool and the area was quiet. I'd stay here again.
Cons: Wifi was a bit spotty the main bungalow door was difficult to open.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice and helpful host Piszy!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxing and chilled out resort, lovely garden location.
7.0 Good
Pros: I like the atmosphere there
9.3 Excellent

Cons: The mattresses were not great. Hard is ok but you could feel the springs through the cover.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Owners was really nice and helpful. The place is very cozy and relaxing. Pool area is nice. The breakfast was good and quite cheap. It was easy to get anywhere with a motobike, and a renting wasnt expensive.
Cons: There were huge spiders in bathroom and a lot of nature voices, like loudy birds. Rooms need maybe little bit renovation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Piysi is the most wonderful hostess you can imagine! She made us feel at home from the very start and she made sure our stay was perfect. She helped us out with tours, information and scooter rental. The place itself is amazing and very beautiful and the food was great too. Lovely swimming pool! In short, the perfect place for your stay in beautiful Khanom! Thank you so much Piysi! We will be back for more!! Joris & Wouter
Cons: Nothing, we had a perfect stay!

Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Stella, is very nice and gives excellent information about what to do around and where to eat. The rooms are clean and they clean everyday. The bed is comfortable and the A/C work well. You can sit in the courtyard and relax or talk with others...we met nice people this way and shared the excursions. You can do massage directly at the resort. Stella also let you use the kitchen if not to much people are in at the same time. At this price, you should not hesitate...we extended our stay there by adding 5 more nights to the original 5. Since the resort is a little bit far from the best beaches and the big market, we recommend that you rent a scooter...the country is so beautiful that you will want to cruise around anyway!
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quite place to stay, clean and staffs are fairly, a bit small area for car park
Cons: Car park area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stella was a delightful hostess. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was exceptionally clean. Shared kitchen useful for making coffee and snacks.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Stella is so kind and generous, the rooms are clean, basic but have anything you need. Bonus was meeting Stella’s cat!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The quiteness and the owner
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Have a spa and massage
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing stay with Stella. Stayed for a few weeks at the resort. Everything I needed was provided for. From basic necessities to water, and transportation around the area. The patio had a nice view of the fields. Stella had done a great a job, and went far beyond to keep everyone happy. She is an adamant animal lover and works tirelessly to support the community in the area. She even had a BBQ party for all the guests and local pet organization. She treats the guests with respect and love.
Cons: It's not the main road, but the road is close to the property. The traffic dies down after 9pm though, so it does not disturb the sleep too much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stella is super nice with a heart of gold! We felt fully taken care of with transportation, food, laundry, activities, and good company. The room was clean and spacious, with good a/c, and there were several sweet, friendly dogs and cats Stella had rescued. It's a 15 miunte walk to the beach, and 10 min to a good dim sum restaurant.
Cons: Khanom is spread out with few taxis, so it was a solid 25 minute walk from the bus stop to get to Stella's in the heat with our packs. I would recommend setting some transportation up with her before arriving and renting a scooter from her while you're there.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff. Quiet location for sleeping.
Cons: Long walk to the beach. Rooms allow noise from others.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stella is a kind and generous person. She took care of me during my stay by getting breakfast from the market when she found out I preferred local breakfast, booked a full-day tour which I was fortunate enough to see the pink dolphins, and had her brother give me a ride to the mini-bus station when I checked out. I rented a scooter from Stella during my stay, so it was easy for me to get anywhere I wanted. If you like dogs and cats, you'll like it here as Stella takes care of several and volunteers to help the town to reduce the overpopulation of strays. The room and bathroom are basic. There is a fridge with beers and drinks at very reasonable prices. The air-conditioner is powerful and cools the room quickly. The shower water pressure can be stronger though. Overall I have nothing to complain about for this affordable room rate.
Cons: I had the correct expectations when I made the bookings, so all was fine.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Baanchaylay Resort in Khanom, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Khanom Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is run by a Thai family, who are ever so kind and very helpful through out your stay. The rooms are charming, tidy and clean. The beach beautiful. The breakfast is Thai-style but there are also jam sandwiches for us western types. It's absolutly charming.
Cons: We found the beds a little small for two persons.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautifull location, waking up with a view of the ocean. The owner were very helpfull and friendly. We had every lunch and diner at CC Beach Club, very close to the hotel. A really nice and friendly restaurant! Morning market is very nice! Not many tourists, very relaxing and chill vibes.
Cons: The breakfast wasn’t much, but one minute walking on the beach and you have 2 really good places for breakfast or diner. There are no taxi’s or tuktuks so you have to rent a scooter (only 200 bath per day).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Run by an absolutely lovely Thai family who go out of their way to make your stay as warm and positive as they can. The bungalows were very clean and comfortable. AC and WiFi worked well, and the bed - though firm (in typical Thai fashion) was fine. The little touches sometimes make all the difference - like the foot bathing pots at the bottom of each bungalow staircase, the bottles of fresh water in the room, a check in that didn’t demand immediate paperwork and was more concerned about welcoming us to their place in a friendly fashion...... Breakfast is simple Thai chicken-rice broth with loads of fresh garnishes. Our hostess arranged scooters for us (2 bikes for 400 bht for the day) as well as helped make sure our taxi was picking us up on time for an early morning flight out of SuratThani. If you’re looking for a “western style” resort, this is not your place. If you want to further fall in love with the unassuming charm and kindness of the Thai people, stop off here! (Oh, and be sure to get some of the fresh coconut ice cream from the sweet guy who comes through the property driveway twice a day selling from his motor scooter. That stuff is dangerously addictive!) The beach that is immediately in front of the Baanchaylay is well kept and stunningly beautiful. Frankly, I wish we could’ve stayed three times longer. Khanom is a gem along the Gulf’s coast, and it’s white sand beaches and huge health palm trees rival any island setting.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beach in a very quiet area. Accommodation was simple but clean and right next to the beach.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location on a fantastic isolated beach.
Cons: Manager could have been more helpful with getting information for us for our onward journey.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic getaway, marvelous hosts!

Pros: We loved our experience at this family run resort. We had the beaches to ourselves and the family included us by taking us to local gatherings and events in the community (markets and a gathering). We highly recommend this resort!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was unique holiday experience in last years. The staff of the resort created very friendly, familiar atmosphere, so my wife and me felt very welcomed as a members of the family after long absence home. Friendly behavior of the staff, very good restaurant, clean and quiet see shore created impression of the holiday visit in a paradise.
Cons: That I do not know. I found nothing unpleasant for me or for my wife. We have being very nicely surprised with the stay in the Khanom Hill Resort and do hope come there back next year.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: great room, nice beach and the staffs are so friendly
Cons: the pool a bit small and the breakfast not so many choices
6.8 Good
Pros: Free bottled water, kitchen facilities in the room, nice pillows and bed, nice bathroom. Wi-Fi was very good.
Cons: They put us in the last bungalow in line over by the pool, with no view...in fact our 'view' was of the road and a large power pole. Also next door to a family of 4 with small children. For the price of the room I was expecting a much nicer view, at least a view of the pool. Also, there really wasn't much direction on tours, and no kayaks or paddle boards, snorkel equipment, or fishing poles. And, while the restaurant food was good, they didn't have several items on the menu, which we found to be true throughout the surrounding area. Large inviting menus, but when you order, "Sorry, mai mee."
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly and very helpful staff and the effort everyone made to look after the guests.
Cons: Would have liked hot water in the showers rather than just lukewarm - also in the washbasin there was just cold water.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Friendly staffs , pools,
Cons: Non-heated pools and mosquitoes problems and not preparing room for guest ( no water ) Room not cleaned completely ( dead bugs on windows and bed
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The friendly staff made me feel like i was home, the resort wasn't too big so there weren't too many people, beautiful beach, good food in their restaurant, easy to book a motorbike. Perfect vacacion!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beach is nice. The pools are nice. Everything is nice. But it is expensive.
Cons: In the end, the most expensive days I had in Thailand with the least activity. Compared to the rest of Thailand, this is an expensive place. The road passing through the resort.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Especially mr Ra was very kind, funny, helpful and service minded. Food was fresh and the taste was very good! Great diversity. Many options for breakfast. Rooms: in the garden, nice view, spacious room. Swimmingpool was nice and quiet, whirlpool was very good. Hotel is close to the beach, nice beds, very quiet.
Cons: We had some lizzards in the room. Only cold water in the shower.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful clean accommodations & the friendliest staff ever! The beach was beautiful & steps from the resort. Loved our stay! Oh & the pool was sparkling clean.
Cons: The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere so might put some people off but we loved it!

Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Cons: There were no bikes available, contrary to the information we had received WIFI was not very good The new years eve dinner cost 10x as much as a normal dinner and drinks were not even included
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location on the beachfront was great. Although the area is on the cusp of some significant resort style developments presently there are only a couple of resorts all quite spread apart effectively making you feel you almost have the beach to yourself. Staff were all very courteous and friendly.
Cons: What a terrible start! The resort is dated, very tired and maintenance questionable. On the way to our room, staff informed us we were being upgraded and what a lovely surprise we thought. The A/C in our 'first' room didn't work at all and some of the lights continually flickered. Moved to another room about 1hr later. This 2nd room was slightly musty upon entry, the bath had soiling in it and the plug set with stagnant water pooling around it. The bathroom power points did NOT work. The A/C wasn't very efficient and with the compressor mounted on the roof (which wasn't insulated) the noise emanating from it almost continuously (even when the A/C was turned off!!!) sounded like an industrial meat grinder! Every time you left the room you had to remove the key from the power slot meaning no A/C throughout the day to keep the room bearable. This meant returning to a furnace each afternoon. Linen was worn thin and had become discoloured to off-white. TV choices (in English) were extremely limited to channels such as BBC World News & CNBC whilst reception was grainy at best. The bed was as hard as a slab (not firm ...hard), uncomfortable and was placed on a huge slab of timber painted the same colour as the floor. This resulted in regularly cracking your shin against the corner breaking skin, bruising etc. (See photos) Whilst the room's appearance may have been 'chic' the design is impractical, uncomfortable and downright dangerous. I nearly tripped over on a number of occasions. I wasn't the only one either. I conducted a little visual survey and observed numerous people with grazing and bruises to their shins! We were at this resort with friends and their room, along with both the 'upgraded room and our second room were all identical. Apart from charging even more $$$ - I have no idea what the upgrade actually could have been?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice beach front
Cons: Bed is not comfortable
6.8 Good
Pros: Stunning Sea View , hospitality services from staff
Cons: Prices are not reasonable compared with condition of in room facilities. Need more maintenance.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The beach was lovely
Cons: The room was not well cleaned . We also spotted a rat near the resturant which was settling. The show broke and a big bit of metal landed on me. We had to ask to chabfe rooms because it was not cleaned or well maintained. I would never go back to this hotel.

Pros: Great overlooking the beach. Nice and quiet. Good old school hotel in a good way.
Cons: Nothing
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: This is the Shining’s Overlook hotel set on the beach. I half expected to find creepy twin girls roaming the hallway. This place was brutal...and I’m a backpacker so my standards are, well, backpacker. I’m not sure if other people have stayed in the hotel this century because the place was seemingly deserted and didn’t show any signs of life. (We may have been the only guests). I get the sense the management have done zilch to improve the standards over the last few decades as the place was literally falling apart. The advertised amenities were non-existent, closed, and or were in terrible condition. (ie spa, games room, swimming pool, etc), the dining room was closed for dinner, and the lights in the hallways were turned off (to save a few bucks I’m guessing). Truth be told, we were duped by the advertising, which made the place seem lively and entertaining. Not the case at all. We were the victims of incredible false advertising. We changed rooms three times before we had one that met our request of having 2 beds and didn’t smell of the 90’s. Needless to say, we checked out after one night. To make matters worse, they attempted to overcharge us for the room. Ugh. It’s location on the beach could have been its one good point, however, their section of the beach was filthy with garbage. Make an effort people! Grab a rake and a rubbish bag! At least the Overlook had Jack & Wendy Torrence maintaining the property. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere...anywhere else!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In Aug. 2016 I spent 3 weeks in Thailand. On my way to Kho Samui I stayed on this hotel and I became absolutely in love with the sightseeing. I promised myself I'd come back one day and so I did. I spent an absolutely quiet and wonderful week in this hotel, resting and enjoying the beach. This is the kind of hotel which is hidden on a real paradise beach. If you are looking for a quiet place to rest, away from the busy rush of shoppings, cities, night life, noise and traffic, this IS the right place to stay. The staff is incredibly nice and helpfull, they speak a modest english but enough to make us understand perfectly. Breakfast a la carte. There's a restaurant on the beach where you can order delicious Thay food, very fresh, cheap and tasty. There weren't many guests when I booked maybe because it was low season and for us that was an advantage because everything was very quiet, nothing but sea and nature all around. This hotel probably knew better days 10 or 15 years ago, but it's still fine for some resting days. There's a medium swimming pool but we never used it once the sea is so calm and the hotel is placed at the beach front. Free parking, excellent WI-FI on the spacious rooms with balconies with sea view. I'll surely come back again once I elected this one of my favourite beaches in Thailand. Quiet all around, fisherman boats and nature. The hotel is 25 Km south of Don Sak Pear if you plan to catch the ferry to Kho Samui and you have a car it's the perfect place to sleep before or after the trip to Kho Samui.
Cons: Nothing to say.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere and location. It s very old but classic. Atmosphere feels like back to 30 years ago, so nostalgic. Friendly staff.
Cons: It s quite old but acceptable. Breakfast should be improved, very little in quantity and less choices to eat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right on the beach. The hotel was not busy so they gave me an upgrade to a better room, which is always appreciated. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Always greeted us every morning with a smile and asked how we were. Restaurant staff were excellent and the breakfast was first rate.
Cons: Nothing just keep doing what your doing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Right on the beach, with a very nice swimming pool and very nice, caring staff. Breakfast is in the hotel, other meals you can have in the redtsurant at the beach. The rooms have nice balconies with a view of the ocean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I Enjoyed Having the Whole Gym to Myself for a Few Days and Good Meals at the Beachfront Restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is clean even though it is old. If you are seeking for the calm and quietness. The wifi was okay.
Cons: My bf and I didn't have a good sleep during the first night. We woke up because of the dream about witches at the same time. We went to the spirit house in the next morning to pray as we thought it might help. Haunted!

Pros: There is a nice dog in their property.
Cons: First night showered with cold water. Fridge not working at all. Ants on the bed. Cheap breakfast. Small swimming pool. More than 10 minutes to the beach by walking in the beach.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful, comfortable and clean bungalows. The area of the resort is amazing, very peaceful and quiet. Friendly, attentive and helpful owners - we got a transfer from the port to the resort and when we left the transfer to the airport. It was all very easy, the owner organized it for us. The breakfast was delicious- with many fresh fruits, fresh oranges juice, good coffee, eggs and jam. Our kids loved the small monkey from the owner, they even could feed him a few times. To reach restaurants and supermarkets we recommend to rent a scooter or a car. The owner can help here, he organized a car for us.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people and a great resort. Lulu the dog had to be the star of the show
Cons: Rooms were lovely but we had a loft space that made the room a little cramped. You do need to have mopeds for transport.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bungalows, as well as the entire resort are very clean and well maintained. Everything is equipped nicely and with a passion for detail. The swimmingpool, although not large, was a welcome refreshment. The location, although not directly at the beach, is very nice and quiet, in fact, I think nicer as along the beachfront. We enjoyed having a scooter to explore the surrounding or go to the good weekend market. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pros: A wonderful place to relax. We stayed 9 days, and fell into a profound calmness. The owners, Thierry and Marie were great hosts, breakfast is petite dejeuner, coffee is excellent. Yes the pool is small, but very comfortable for a wonderful swim at the end of a day on the beach, or a beginning before breakfast. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and wooden, and cleaned daily. The grounds and pool are kept super clean also. I can't say enough of how we enjoyed the peace and quiet and comfort. I almost forgot, the bed was super comfortable, we both slept late and well.
Cons: I don't have a complaint or recommendation of improvement. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
6.3 Good
Cons: IT was quite scary to walk to the beach from the property since there are a lot of dogs around chasing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A great spot with helpful and kind staff. The place had real character with wooden bungalows and a split level family room which the kids enjoyed. A ten minute walk to the beach.
Cons: Breakfast was the same every day but plenty of it and filling.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Dave was brilliant. We had terrible weather so the normal long poolside or beach days were no good. Dave' taxi service and ideas were excellent.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff very friendly and the property is nice
Cons: They did not accept credit cards this caused me inconveniences. Breakfast was boring and small in a place were fruit is abundant theirs wasn't fresh. And he charged a horrendous amount to pick up at the airport 60 dollars when the van at the airport charges less than 9 dollars definitely will never stay there again
5.8 Okay
Pros: I liked the quaintness if the individual huts.. which were spacious and clean
Cons: We were a family of 5 and booked two rooms for one night whilst on our travels around Thailand... whilst one Thai lady that met us was lovely, the host/owner made us feel quite unwelcome also when we ordered drinks we asked how much it was he never told us and we ended up with quite a hefty bill, we had to play our own music in the bar even though there was a music system too.. just a very unwelcoming place.. shame as it could be lovely...

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Far away with no car or motorcycle. The owner charged the room price twice! (credit card and money from us by check out) And said to booking.com he didn't take money from us, so I couldn't get the money back. This charge from the credit card was 1 day after we left, so I couldn't have known to prevent it. Communication in english with everybody there was almost imposible.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Siriburi resort is such a nice place to stay in Khanom. It is a bit of a distance from the main road where all the shops and restaurants are, but it didn't bother us much as we like to walk. Khanom is very stretched out so if you do not like walking, you have to hire a vehicle (bicycles are available to hire at Siriburi). The hosts are lovely and very helpful. The view from the room is awesome. Windows overlook a large field where many birds and and two buffalos spend their days. We loved it! Beach is not far at all, something like 10 min walk.

Cons: The staff here are quite rude and the hotel is horrible literally miles from anywhere. We thought it was near the pier but had to pay quite a lot to hotel for taxi. Very basic and local, not cheap enough for the poor quality.
