The owner is amazing and a sweetheart!! They speak just enough english to be able to understand each other. Room was nice and had it's own bathroom. Be careful of the steep stairs to get up to the room.
Facilities & very small bathroom & old room
This is a small, friendly place which is really cozy and homely - a "mini-hostel". The central location is SUPERB for sight-seeing - bus and train lines within easy walking distance. The staff is super friendly albeit not terribly good at English (a fact for which she was desperately sorry). However, a little Google Translate and everything went fine. Super helpful. The (bunk) beds are comfy and not too small. Overall, excellent value for money.
Better communication in English would have been helpful. It would also have been nice if there had been a breakfast-option; this was the case a few years ago. However, the guest house still provides all eating utensils on request, so we simply bought our own food at a local supermarket. Be aware that the place is generally rather small - it is best used as a "base" for exploration/sightseeing, not so much for simply hanging around.
Staff was lovely and helped us with everything. Possible to use the laundry for 100 Yen.
Its a bit far from city centre and the bus takes long time to all Destinations. Breakfast costs between 400-500 Yen.
