Exceptional
This is our go-to location whenever we are in Lisbon. The staff are, without exception, friendly and helpful and will always go the extra mile for you. We love the hotel, the location and the general vibe. It really has a boutique feel to it and is the so far removed from the sterile 'business' hotel feel that it really allows you to relax and indulge yourself.
Fantastic place!
We got a deluxe suite and it was amazing, super nice furniture and decoration, very spacious. The bed is really comfortable! Location in city center and you can walk almost anywhere! The staff has always been approachable and helpful, but also reserved. We had a great time!
Just a note on the breakfast: due to COVID restrictions, there is no buffet as in the pictures and they bring you a selection at the table! It was nonetheless good!
Totally recommended
Our room was exceptionally gorgeous with this classic style with decorated ceiling (rosette, mouldings...) and delicately picked colours. The breakfast was very nice and simple, and the attention received was superb. The location of the hotel in the centric district of Chiado, near Baixa-Chiado metro station (2 minutes walking), tramways and bus, makes it well connected and, at the same time, quiet because it is not on a crowded street. Totally recommended. The only objection, if any, is that they don't have an elevator, so you need to walk up the beautiful wooden stairs to get to your room.
Fantastic stay, beautiful holiday
We liked everything, the hotel, staff, location is fantastic , lots of shops , bars, resturants etc. easy to walk. and its safe. they are really friendly. food is delicious and good shopping.
nothing. becasue everything was great.
Exceptional
I got an upgrade to suite deluxe so it was fantastic
Exceptional
Hotel is in a very charming old villa in a great area. Suite deluxe is comfortable and pretty big. Bathroom is stylish. Staff are friendly and helpful
Some amount of noise from the bar below
Bad
Character
Staff member on duty showed a complete lack of customer care by being noisy late at night, asked to be quiet yet persisting on disturbing us and barging into suite without ensuring no one was in. Completely unacceptable and never experienced.
Superb
Superb location close to most of the sights. Clean and spacious room with comfy bed and pillows. After contacting the staff we could check in earlier than usual, which was quite fortunate due to our early flight.
When using the bathroom, an especially loud water pump could be heard. Altought we called the hotel and ring the bell on the front door, getting in was not that easy.
Best location, best hotel!
Stylish, comfortable, genuine. Great bed. I had to stay in bed three days due to fever (NOT covid-19), and the staff was so so sweet and helpsam! Brought me a Coke, called the hospital for me etc. And asked me several times if they could do anything for me. Perfect breakfast in a beutiful tiled room. Next time in Lissabon, this is the place for me ❣️
Exceptional
Fantastic location, fantastic views, very friendly and attentive staff. Love to come back.
No bathroom door
Exceptional
Fantastic boutique style hotel. Fantastic staff, breakfast and location and spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review of Dear Lisbon -...
Important note: Dear Lisbon - Bordalo Palace Chiado was closed and we were assigned a room in Palace Chiado Suites instead (which is located within 5-10 minute walk from Bordalo Palace), so this review actually refers to Palace Chiado Suites, but I hope that the high standards of the DL team are kept in all their locations. Breakfast with great variety of food choices was delivered to our room as part of COVID-19 measures. Hotel is close to major sights, metro and train stations as well as Tram 28 stops, shopping center and shopping street as well as restaurants. Dear Lisbon have designed their own maps of the city - very nice, informative and enjoyable to use.
We were not informed that Bordalo Palace is closed so ordered a taxi from the airport to that place and then had to walk to Palace Chiado Suites, thankfully, it was a short walk.
Awesome
Very nice staff, the room was awesome, clean and comfortable.
Superb
Great spacious room everything was great! Staff was very responsive even at late hours. Great location. Great espresso coffee in the room.
Stunning place to discover Lisbon!
Our room was absolutely stunning! Wonderful stucco and decorated tastefully. The staff was dedicated to make it a special stay and very helpful with our special needs. Great location to start discovering Lisbon!
Everything was good! Delicious breakfast and the room was bigger than expected.
The taps (?) in the bathroom made a really loud noise.
Location, clean, roomy, good tv service, good shower
Shower was slow to drain. No garbage can in main room
Quaint spacious room. Very nice staff. Nice breakfast.
Clean room, nice breakfast, friendly staff, perfect location
Everything was perfect!
Everything! We had a wonderful room with a small balcony overlooking a charming square. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were even given a small bottle of port as a gift on arrival. The breakfast was superb. We were really made to feel very welcome indeed and in a way that was utterly genuine.
Absolutely nothing. Honestly.
Fantastic room, fantastic location. No complaints. Lovely building with a brilliant cocktail bar right nextdoor.
Hotel was extremely clean and we got excellent service. Location was also super good!
If I have to mention something, our balcony view was towards the roof of the next buildings. Roofs were full of trash and did not invite us for being in the balcony. However the weather was not that good on february so did not affect our stay at all.
The hotel is lovely. Great location, amazing atmosphere and wonderful staff.
Great location Very spacious room and bathroom Good breakfast Nice staff
Great place! Highly recommended
It was a great little boutique hotel - really recommend it
Only one small point: Coffee in coffee pot should be refilled to keep it piping hot
The location.could'nt find another better hotel in the city.everything as a travller wants ,food ,places to go,just so handy.and staffs are nice.
The noise outside during night till early morning
Very helpful and friendly staff, the room was very spacious and beautifully furnished. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel location was very good and close to many attractions, restaurants and shops.
Nothing to dislike about this hotel. But the position was at the top of a steep road, which may not suit all persons.
Excellent location. Outstanding breakfast. Delightful personnel.
Difficult to load and unload auto/taxi as no place to park temporarily.
Large, clean, well appointed room. Enjoyed the 2 Juliet balconies overlooking the street. Utilized the Nespresso machine each morning. Nice breakfast each morning. Great location. Welcomed at check-in with a glass of port.
Could hear loud music playing late at night from one of the establishments nearby. With balcony door open, could smell smoke from patrons at restaurant below.
Loved that it was an old building tastefully restored with original features. Beautiful, tastefully decorated. Lovely restaurants and cafes next in the same block.
Old plumbing a little noisy.
Beautiful, intimate hotel in a great location! Right in a lively neighborhood close to the theatre, shops and restaurants, but quiet and safe. The breakfast was excellent: fresh, delicious, and eggs made to order.
The water pipes groaned and thundered after showers or flushing, but this was an old house and I could easily overlook that!
The location is fantastic, near the Baixa Chiado metro stop and near many good bars and restaurants. The breakfast was very good, a buffet of fruit, pastries, meat, cheese, yogurt and cereal as well as coffee and juices. I was asked each night what type of eggs I would like the next morning and they were brought out fresh when I came to the breakfast room.
The only bothersome thing was a noise from the bathroom, that I think was a water pump. Any time I used the sink or shower there was a loud noise, though it only lasted a minute or less.
Size of the room was surprising , bed was comfortable and breakfast delicious!
No view! And ants were comming in the room next to fireplace... maybe because of rain.. but they had fun in my suitcase..
Hotel is in a central part of town which made walking to many places very easy. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and welcoming. The room was very spacious!
Dear Lisbon was clean and comfortable in a great location but quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was good with choices for gluten intolerance which was a bonus for me. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back
A lovely place to stay
Loved it
Great little place
A lovely place to stay
Loved it
Perfect location on a small street without a lot of traffic. Restaurants nearby. Easy walk to tram stop and good shopping. Quiet except for Fri. night as outdoor partying was at nearby restaurant. Weather probably a factor as many people were enjoying the outdoors. It did quiet down by midnight. The hotel staff are very nice and spoke perfect English -- a bonus. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast.
There was only 1 chair in the room, so not easy to sit and converse or enjoy a glass of wine, etc, together while relaxing. No elevator, but the staff helped with luggage.
great location, breakfast good. staff helpful. not noisy.
all good
Everything.
Great, nice and very helpful staff. Amazing location. Beautiful spacious room and bathroom.
Basic breakfast buffet.
The staff was fabulous. Friendly and helpful. The Chiado location was perfect for a first time visitor. Great restaurants a block away. Many more within 4 blocks. Near the Rossio rail station. Decent room with comfortable chair and small bathroom with great shower.
As a 76 year old, the lack of an elevator was unexpected. The on duty manager placed our bags in the room. A few minor irritations: there is no waste basket in the room, only the small metal container with lid in the bathroom. There are no drawers for clothing. Small closet to hang a few items. In the middle of our stay the maid removed the two glasses from our room and never replaced them. ONE bar of soap was placed in three days. Nice to have one for the sink and one for the shower. Really stupid little things that can be fixed.
the central location and beautiful room
nothing
Great location
Great location. Helpful staff.
No elevator.
It was excellent
I liked the location and the little square outsider the Hotel. The Hotel was cozy and the breakfastroom was neat.
I did not like that there were music every right outside our window until Midnight every night. Considering that the Hotel was a bit thin-walled we were affected by those and other noises. I think that since the room was a bit pricy we would expert our towels to be changed every day, which ours were not, and that the breakfast would be a bit more up scale than it was. But the location was truly excellent!
Perfect location, wonderful welcoming staff, delicious breakfast, and spacious beautifully restored room.
Room didn’t have a view and was next to the breakfast kitchen.
Location, in heart of Chiado. Pleasant receptionist. Modern bathroom and great shower. Breakfast good but not expansive.
No view... Room described as view, but just see walls and windows. Old fashioned decor.
Room was good, location excellent
Breakfast only average. No explanation of what/how to order. Only realised there was hot food because Someone else was eating a boiled egg.
Gorgeous place to stay and convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. Amazing breakfast and all of the staff were friendly and very helpful.
Amazing location near the city center with an apparent eye for detail. Spacious room with tall cielings, modern fittings and furnishings. Quick access to the metro and the river. Great stores and resturants in the immediate area, albeit a bit pricey. Breakfasts in the quaint dining room were also very welcome.
Quite some noise coming from downstairs, could be a problem for light sleepers.
All the staff were excellent especially Marta on reception who was just so helpful!!! Upgraded to junior suite Position was just brilliant Beautifully clean Breakfast was simply but more than adequate Morning coffee excellent
Everything was great but one very small suggestion...... cornflakes please on breakfast buffet.
Was a very nice , clean and beautiful bedroom ! On a hot spot area in Lissabon !
I think this hotel has the best location in Lisbon
Pillows are stiff
Very comfortable and romantic room, good service and personnel
Tiny portion of eggs for breakfast
Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms and a perfect breakfast. Good location if you want to cover city highlights by foot, and also pretty close to the metro station.
Clean. Large space. Everything we needed. Helpful staff. Lovely building
-
I liked everything. Breakfast was delicious and plenty. Staff was amazing. The beds very comfortable and everything was provided like a kettle and a nespresso machine with capsules. The location was amazing.
Nothing to report
Great place to stay in Lisbon. Big and pretty rooms. Very clean. Cute breakfastroom and kind staff. We really enjoyed the place and the atmosphere. Was travelling with kids 15&18, also they really liked the place. Would gladly recommend.
The staff goes out of its way to make you feel like you are the only important person in Lisbon. This location is superb. This will be the biggest room you have ever stayed in while visiting Portugal and you will love its historic feel .
Zero
The location was perfect for a city trip. Everything closeby. The receptionist was always friendly and so helpful, with tips about restaurants and places to see. The room was so clean, nice size, beds were super comfortable and even though there were restaurants downstairs just in front, with the new windows they had, we slept great with no noise.
Nothing
The best location in Lisbon. Excellent staff. Clean and comfort.
Big welcome. Good recommendations on where to eat. And nice glass of red wine
19th Century house in the historical part of the City. Vibrant street atmosphere.
There was nothing to dislike.
The breakfast and staff were quite accommodating. Marta was especially helpful, friendly, and provided excellent recommendations. I also loved the Porto in the lobby available to the guests.
When I requested a "Double Room," my intention was double (two) beds. However, it was interpreted as one double bed. I was NOT traveling with a partner, so this was extremely awkward. The next day the beds were separated. This distinction needs to be clearer, as it seems to be a matter of interpretation of the word "double."
Good central location Great breakfast Big room
No elevator
Very spacious room, good breakfast and the employees made us an egg dish (ordered the night before) immediately when we arrived. The staff was very helpful.
The hotel is housed in a beautiful historic building with a friendly staff, very comfortable rooms, and cute breakfast area. It’s a fabulous location next to amazing restaurants and shopping.

Grande chambre Bon emplacement

Pompe a eau bruyante.
