Located in a more up-and-coming area with lots of cool bars and vegan restaurants (if you know where to look). The walk to the more touristy areas is a bit long, but uber works perfectly.

Joao and Ana: very professional, friendly, very helpful, patient, wonderful.
The hostel is not recommended for families with small children as one needs to press the shower every few seconds for water to flow and there is no shower hose/ connection so you cannot control water flow to wash your small kid. However they have a plastic wash basin to use as a bath tub for kids.

The building and decoration was like portuguese style and we liked. Also the balcony in the kitchen.
Our room (number 6, Bowles) was located just in a transit area on the stairs and just in front of the kitchen, and the public toilets. So was very difficult to sleep, was super noisy due to all people going up and down in the wood stairs. Also a lot of noise from the kitchen, and eating area. But was worth it for the amount of money that we paid. Also the staff was very good. And the breakfast was poor in variety but still nice. Also the water in the shower and for clean hands, you can not keep open, you press the button, works the water for like 5-10seconds and you need to press again, is annoying...

Breakfast was basic but everything was fresh and good quality. For the price of stay very reasonable. Nice atmosphere, tram 28 was 1 minute of walk from there. Atmosphere of the hotel was nice, personal very kind and helpful. We came late, they help us with the check in eventhough it was our mistake and very late comeing. Room was clean , bathroom too. Kitchen was nice, well equiped, great oportunity to make lunch or dinner. Lidl was near, perfect restaurants around.
Couldnt figure out how to start heating in room. Room was litle bit moist, after opening the window it was ok.

Spacious room with a terrace, good upkeep of the bathroom. Access to kitchen with fridge was great, especially when you travel with 3year old. Nice receptionist who explained how everything works.

We had a nice and clean room with our own bathroom
We would have liked to have another proper blanket in our bed, because me and my friend slept in same bed.

The bedroom was clean and the staff that were emailing me details of how to obtain my key after check out time were friendly and efficient. Room was big and was close to local amenities.
On arrival the information given to us stated that breakfast was from 8:30 to 10:30, however when we came to get breakfast on our first day at just after ten we were told no more breakfast after ten and advised that the local cafe next door does breakfast. Really disappointed as we had paid for 4 nights at €216. We only actually had breakfast twice there as we were leaving early on the day of flying home ( didn’t mind missing it then ) however we weren’t offered a refund of any sort due to us missing breakfast because of the wrong information given to us but was told it was on the website (who is going to check website when we’re told the times of breakfast? ). I believe it was over priced as the breakfast consisted of ham, cheese, bread and x2 cereal. We were then told if we wanted extra towels would cost us €2 more, expected to use one towel for four nights? I have travelled in plenty of countries and paid a lot less for hostels before with much better customer experience. I hate leaving bad reviews as I feel it’s unfair so often don’t but I do feel this hostel is rated way too highly on booking.com for what it actually offers. The fire alarm went off while we were there and the guests were left to deal with it. Very unsafe & very disappointing. Would not recommend.
Room was large with comfy beds and a private shower. Really appreciated being given a quiet room as requested. Customer service was excellent - Thanks to Ana and Liz for their dinner recommendations and places to visit.
We took hours to figure out why the shower only had cold water. Then we needed to turn the water on for 10mins before the hot water came on which we didn't think was environmentally friendly at all.
Friendliest staff, very helpful
Poor breakfast, no windows in the room
Very neat location, great typical house and Lisbon quarter. Everything was clean and nice.
Only the breakfast was very simple.
The room and public space is clean and cozy. Free Breakfast have various foods. Staff is friendly and kind.
The water switch in shower room will stop automatically which is inconvenient for me. Some part of stairs is quite narrow for moving the suitcase.
Everything was very good and clean!! Nice and cozy room with patio.
Room is clean and the breakfast is simple but very okay with this price.
too many stairs....
- There is definitely a problem with the sewerage. Smell was very bad in whole room. - There was no window in the room. Only one 10×10 centimetres in the bathroom. And it was not presided in the description. - Breakfast is bad: bread from yesterday, cheese, ham, jam, corn flakes and only tea. - Hair from previous customers was everywhere
The staff were amazing, super friendly. It was clean and had everything I needed.
Close to famous tramline 28E Good sight seeing advises of the host
Very basic and not very clean Bad smell in the bath room Cockroaches in the room City view is only a small window in the bathroom No replacement of the towels No shampoo and shower gel
Rooms were nice, good location. Receptionist was helpful and friendly for most of the time.
We arrived at 3 pm to pick up our bags, as the deadline was 4 pm. When we got there, no one was at reception to let us in and get them. We then waited an hour and a half before a friend or relative of one of the people who works there came to let us in and pick our bags up, before shooing is away and rushing out of the place. The rushing of making us leave the hostel and lack of apology or explanation made us feel like they thought it was our fault. Felt treated with complete contempt and disrespect. Luckily our coach was at 18:30 and we got there in time, but if we had an earlier one, we would have missed it due to the sheer incompetence and lack of respect shown to us as guests. Also, stove wasn’t working (something we found out after buying food, and only now acknowledged by the staff after we informed them) and showers were not exactly comfortable.
We had a private room and it was very nice, the bed was very comfy. Everything was spotless clean and everything was decorated really nicely. I really liked the building it was in and the rooftop terrace was very nice.
It would have been nice if there had been soap and paper towels in the toilets.
Nice terrace on top of the hostel and very friendly staff
Small room and tiny bathroom, unfortunately there was no window in the room
The beds are very comfortable, good infrastructure, bathrooms and breakfast. The location it was excellent too, close to supermarkets and metro.
The stairs are very irregular, so if you go with heavy luggage, gets really difficult to climb with. There is no control for the AC in the rooms. It needs to ask for the staff to configure.
It was very clean and tidy. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was all ready in the morning.
Nothing. Lovely time
Friendly staff, good communication even thought we did not always speak the same language. Breakfasts were simple but fresh and well stocked. Coffee was however weak. The cafe next door made awesome coffee and pastries.
Did not have controls for the heater and it got quite chilly.
This hostel is close to everything. The metro, tram, food, supermarket, the staff. The clean facilities. Everything you needed was available
No elevator..but then again it's Lisbon. You got to climb up
Excellent hostal friendly people and superb staff. Special mention
Only the location of the place was ok
Actually our room didn't have a window! This was not emphise in description of the room. The room was tiny and was not cleaned when de arrived in the evening. Bad small came from canal and kitchen áll the time. They requested 10EUR célosít when se arrived and when we left they didn't want to give it back and I couldn't prove thát I have given it since we haven't received any receipt formerly.
Amazing spirit and a really cosy atmosphere and comfortable place
All the staff there are lovely! The 24 check-in is great, especially as I arrived super late due to plane delays. There is always someone around to get to you should you have any delays. Breakfast is basic but then so am I, so was nice to have something to eat first thing in the morning. Allowing guests to have full use of the kitchen too is great, handy for those occasions if you wanna just cook something rather than go out for dinner. The fact there are no TVs anywhere was a surprising plus too, it meant I got to do some much sought after reading! But then this shouldn’t be a surprise seeing as the place encourages it anyway. Indeed, all the rooms are named after poets and authors! All in all, I loved my stay, and would definitely book with them again when I come to Lisbon in the future, or would definitely consider their Porto hostel should I visit that city!
No complaints really!
Everything!
Well kept, clean, beautiful terraces
Location
The hostel is too cramped.
The design of the hostel was quite nice and the included breakfast was a nice addition. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The showerhead did not work properly!
Everything else ;)
Breakfast without vegatables at all. It was hard for me as vegan.
The staff were friendly
the steps
Clean, nice, friendly
The staff was good, we got all the information we need, metro is close.
The hair dryer is too weak, the access by the stairs is not easy to carry the bags.
Bedding very good
The steps
Breakfast and coffee was excellent, the staff was super nice, the rooms were comfy. The whole place has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Honestly recommend this place.
The shower is awful, you can't manage it properly, you either can't get water, or you'll get crushed by an aquatic version of the Death Star.
Fantastic place , staff were wonderful
Other than it being cozy, perfect and clean ... the staff are absolutely wonderful. They are a fantastic bunch of individuals and really do all they can to make you feel at home.
Friendly staff, great location and lovely hostel.
well organized, quiet, clean, central, safe. A nice place, even though it feels a little tight when full.
shower temperature couldn't be regulated - water got too hot after 1 minute
Own bathroom. Quiet, no noise from street. No bunk bed (not in all rooms). Rooftop and another terrace to sit on. Bed was comfy. Enough space for luggage and table next to the bed to put things on. Air condition. Comfy feeling when you walk around the hostel. Supermarket nearby. Tram 28 right around the corner. Good breakfast, coffee could be better.
Shower and tap were really loud in the room. The kitchen is too small for that many people. No comfy areas with couches to hang out. The sitting area on the rooftop is quite uncomfy. So getting in a chat with people is not that easy and not likely to stay in when there's no nice sitting area. Many many many and steep stairs. Timer in shower and tap so after 10 seconds the water stops. In the shower it wasn't possible to change the temperature.
Easy check in and check out, friendly staff, room and communal areas were clean and comfortable, communal areas nice to relax in
The room and bathrooms were quite basic
Staff at the Hostel.

Super clean friendly and relaxing
Nothing at all!
Great atmosphere, beautiful building with lovely terraces and shared spaces. The bed was super comfortable. The other hosts were all respectful and quiet. There was air conditioning
The bathroom for the 6-beds dorm was always quite dirty. For the price I paid I would have expected a better offer for breakfast and maybe a towel for free. No lockers
Great place to be at. Super atmosphere. Away from any noise, but a few mins walk and you are in the center of things. The staff are excellent .. each and every one of them.
It was clean, modern and had a nice feel about it. A fairly short walk from Anjos metro and really close to the route 28 historic tram line. The staff really welcomed us and were happy to chat and give advice.
The kitchen got crowded at times but it wasn't too bad.
Staff was friendly and gave great recommendations for around the city. Common areas (especially the terrace were great). Very clean.
The room near the stairs was a bit noisy.
I loved the decor and the cute little rooftop hang out area. I also liked the neighborhood it was in with pretty easy proximity to the metro, the 28 tram and Alfama area.
The only suggestion is to have more city maps and city info available. We had a little trouble finding our way around at first and I think that a better (bigger) map than what they gave at the hostel with more info about metro and public transport would have been helpful.
Very clean, the receptionist, Maria, was SUPER helpful. She's amazing, friendly and goes over and beyond her calling. The kitchen and the lounge is also very nice, including the top roof patio. It's very close to public transportation as well. The cleaners are very friendly. The cafeteria/cafe just beside the hostel has really friendly people.
Friendly, very helpful staff, clean room, comfy bed, pleasant vibe in the hostel overall, breakfast included
The staff is extremely friendly, Maria showed us around and really like her energy! At the end of our stay we could leave the suitcases in the reception which was a nice bonus.
In the private room is a shower with a timer, no biggie there. I was missing a little shelf to put some soaps on and also I was missing a removable shower head, the shower stream was going everywhere.
The staff at the hostel were great. Matthew who was on reception seemed really happy to share information with us about local bars, restaurant and general tips. Also, the concept of the hostel is very welcoming, with a few comfortable and quiet communal areas and a kitchen area with a good range of utensils. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the hostel was really well maintained. The cleaners seemed to be very hard at work to ensure everything was clean. Another selling point about the property is that it's a short walk from 2 metro stops, making it very easy to get around Lisbon on the public transport.
The shower in our private room was extremely poor. It took ages to heat up, the volume of water coming out of the shower head was ridiculously low and when it finally did heat up, it was way too hot. When everything else about the hostel is so good, and prices for a private room are hardly cheap, seems ridiculous that a bit of money spent on a decent shower hasn't happened.
Cost, welcoming
Nothing!
Really nice and helpful staff! Thank you for the recommendations guys :) Clean room, fresh breakfast, nice people.
Shower is a bit tricky but we get used to it :)
The shower is very inconvenient to use as the water is on a timer and turns off after about 15 seconds. Same with the bathroom sink. We asked to have our air conditioner turned on one night (because it is controlled by reception and there is no remote in the room) and it was never done.
The atmosphere of the hostel and the location are nice
There was a water leak in the room which could have been reported
Nice guys Maria and Mathew provided what's you needed. Breakfast just good enough for day beginning.
Door lock
The rooftop deck was amazing! Also, the breakfast was good and the staff went above and beyond to help me several times
No complaints
Great atmosphere!!
The staff was super helpful and the rooms were clean and quiet.
The showers push bottom was very short, so it was very inconvenient.
