Very well located, great value for money !
Good location, a really (really) lovely staff
Mattress is too basic and thin, shower is without control over temperature and with a push-button (so you need to push every 4 seconds for a constant stream), facilities in general feel very basic. Other places offer more for the same price level
The location is just awesome!
Nothing to say
I've stayed there three times before. That says it all really. It's a cosy familiar place central to everywhere. It's my favourite city, so its perfect. Nice breakfast and wonderful people work there.
Nothing..
Breakfast was decent, it can fill you up the entire morning.
Shared bathroom needs cleaning it it was bearable.
Location was excellent. Maria & Simon (Apologies, if I got the names wrong), were so helpful and cheers for the information and suggestions. Located 1 minute from the metro and the famous Cafe Braziliea. Enjoyed our stay.
The hostel was great - everyone was very respectful and overall, it was a nice quiet place to sleep. Staff were fantastic, all super friendly and helpful if you needed anything. I don’t usually do hostels but I’m glad I stayed here! Great location to navigate.
Shiado is in a great location, near to a metro station and within walking distance of many great bars and attractions. The staff are pleasant and the bathrooms are clean. The kitchen is reasonably well stocked. Overall great value for money if you're on a budget.
It's a hostel, so many amenities are missing (e.g. no safe) or sub-par, but that's what you pay for. Beds aren't very comfortable and wi-fi isn't available in some rooms. Fairly loud at night, in particular the door to the girl's bathroom is annoyingly squeaky.
Brilliant, helpful staff; excellent recycling policy; clean, comfortable rooms and beds; overall, quiet and restful hostel. Very good value too.
Breakfast, location, staff
Narrow bathroom, narrow rooms, dim light, no doors for showers , modest cleaning
Was super clean and tidy
Uncomfortable beds in dorm
Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Location is good, near Alfama. I was in the room for 8 persons on the upper bed, a bit hot overnight, but OK.
The location was amazing and the staff really nice and helpful! The room and bathroom was clean too!
The towels smelled bad after only one use, and you had to pay 2€ for a new towel
Very convenient location with lift. Good value of money and breakfast is included.
a bit noisy during the night, need to press the shower bottom every 10s to get water
Kind staffs, good location.
Perfect location next to entertainmant district Bairro Alto. Breakfast for free. Metro station Baixa-Chiado is a not-5-minute-walk away.
The location is perfect and i also like the energy of the staffs! It’s truly a nice place to stay for your trip! Highly recommended!
They have someone working 24 hours. Our flight was delayed so we didn’t arrive until midnight and it was nice to not worry about checking in. The beds were comfortable for a hostel and the bathrooms were clean.
Good staff, good location. Clean
The breakfast is very decent
The ventilation of the room was quite bad... esp when you have an outdoor concert just downstairs and you have to close the windows
The location was great
Our AC did not work and they could not fix it during our 4 day stay
-GREAT location, very close to Baixa metro station and lisboa landmarks. Shopping streets, cafes, tram lines etc -shared kitchen is good. Breakfast is included. -Maria, staff, is very helpful and friendly. -Common area is fine. Not that busy/party hostel, which is good for me :) -clean bathroom
-air con in dorm room no.8 didn’t work. However, at night weather got cool down, so it was ok.
Very clean, friendly staff, breakfast was really varied. Shared spaces very cosy! Top location
Staff Location Good value for money
It wasn't in any way unclean, but it could use an extra scrubbing in the corners.
I like the homey feeling of Shiado. We can use the kitchen 24 hours and we can make hot drink at the end of the day, after hitting the road the whole day, just remember to clean your cup and dish after using. Eventhough their breakfast is basic, but they have only freshly baked bread delivered every morning, and they provide fruit (apple during my stay) and it is good when you have your diggestion system clean while traveling. It has elevator and the reception opens 24 hours. It is near a plaza with McD and various restaurants around. The bedroom is quite spacious too with enough sunlight access. The wifi connection is great and there is locker with lock provided that we can use. All of the receptionists are helpful too. Although they don't know the number of the bus to get to certain places, they look for it in internet and describe it to me.
Amazing staff! I was welcomed by Victor, a very professional and always available Brazilian guy that gave me a lot of tips about the city, the places to visit and where to eat.
everything is just perfect. Staffs are really nice
Friendly staff. Excellent location.
No storage space at room Hot water supply slow. Bed is small and lowers
The staffs are friendly and helpful. Good location and good value for money with breakfast included. The room was really spacious and clean. I had a very convenient stay.
The bunk beds in mixed room do not have curtains to give privacy which leaves the light so bright at night when someone turns her own lamp. Also the noise outside can easily be heard in the room. Otherwise, the room was spacious.
Near the city center; shopping, sightseeing, restaurants & bars nearby
great localization, option to store luggage, 24h reception
uncomfortable bed, lot of noise from the street, it was not possible to change the temperature of the water in the bathroom, very poor breakfast
Very very nice and frendly staff!
Friendly staffs, great location, cozy environment
Just a personal preference for cold showers - the temperature of the water is fixed (warm water)
Everything, especially the position.
Best location and the friendliest staff.
Noise from the restaurant in the street below the windows.
Location is great and I'm very satisfied with my days at the hostel.
Floors might be cleaned a bit more often as well as the wc
very helpful staff
somewhat hard to find
It's located in city center. Near rossio train station and metro station. 24 hour reception. You can easily get there by metro from airport. Nice guys on reception, wery friendly and they now everything about city. I'll come back one day!
The ambiance of the hostel exceeded my expectations. The dorm was very airy, the toilets were clean and the common room is very quirky. There is even a lift so you don't have to drag your luggage up to 3rd floor.
The breakfast had very limited option.
One of the cleanest, best maintained hostel I've ever been to. Really central location. Staff were very friendly. Would recommend 10/10.
The breakfast could have been better.
Location is good and the staff was friendly, kitchen zone is nice to have some chat with other guests
The room was somewhat modest even for a hostel
The staff , comfortable beds and room, lockers inside the room computer access
toilet should be locked different and breakfast can be more diversl
The staff were very friendly and approachable.
Bathroom showers and airconditioning
Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is good, couple of minutes from the main area. Breakfast was fine, but the choice was quite little. Lockers doesn't fit a suitcase, but you can put all your valuable belongings without a suitcase there.
Wifi wasn't very good in my room (number 8). It took quite a while to get warm water on the shower. But otherwise, it's a very good place for that price and the location.
location of course, métro within 3 min walking, pastei near by easy to grab before tour flight, hot water, minimalsit breakfast but Green tea, clean, réception open 24/7
no good matress, shared bathroom, old door and noisy building we book our ticket late so of course i couldnt find less expensive place except hostel... for less money i already found better comfort in Lisbon. with shiado you pay the location... old building, u can easily hear your neighbour, traditionnel hostel for young People... it will be my last one for sure , i prefer more comfort, my own shower and bathroom... bed were not confortable enough when you reach 35...but if I was 22 with friends it would be à great hostel I guess...
I dont like that shower room is very public accessible. The location is near the station but you have to know which exit it's a low slope. If you exit where the high slope is, you will truly exhaust.
I liked this hostel mainly because the staff were so kind. They are eager to help you on anything you ask. Another thing i liked about this hostel was that the breakfast was included in the price. They provide bread with jams&butter, cereals, coffee, juice etc. Location is also great. Right next to a metro station called Baixa-Caido.
Nothing:)
Good facilities, Good staff, well-located, clean & comfortable. Thanks
Nothing.
The staff was very attentive and positive. We had a good sleep at 8 people mixed dorm, I didn’t have the time to cook so I don’t know about the cooking facilities. Good breakfast, great location!
Location and staff!
.
Great location but only stayed for one night on a layover. Friendly/helpful staff and would stay again if I were coming back for longer!
Beside the staff being the most friendly people I met in Lisbon, the place itself was sad.
Cold dripping water for the morning showers No one responsible to make coffee in the morning Thin walls letting you hear all the noises from the hallways and the other rooms Smelly bathrooms Noisy metal bunkbeds
Closeness to the city centre
Dirty neighbours
- Good location. It''s in the chiado area and close to Praca Louis de Camoes, Elevador Santa Justicia, etc - Not too far from metro station, and less than 15-minute walking to Cais do Sodre - A quite hostel yet friendly atmosphere - Friendly and nice staff
- Room looks old and have a feeling like staying at grandma's house
The location and the ambiance. Breakfast.!
Nothing..it's my third time. Really nice.
having a kitchen and meeting with other people.
I was cold as it was really cold and rainy in Lisbon, and it took a few days till I received the heating information.
Friendly staff, location is really good. Quiet during the night in spite of being in the center of the city. Possibility of late check-in, luggage storage after check-out.
It was not possible to control the water temperature in the shower.
Staff were great. Location was perfect. Baixa district is fun. Everything was clean and our twin room was comfortable.
Showers were on a very short timer. Breakfast was very basic, but there is a nice coffee shop next door.
The staff were lovely, especially Maria who I really enjoyed taking to. Location is great, nice common area, comfortable beds.
To have a shower you need to keep pushing the button and can't control the temperature.
The location is great! It's right in the center of Lisbon but down on a side street so you weren't getting a ton of traffic/noise. We had a single room at it was large. The women's bathroom was clean with two toilets and 3 showers.
While the room is a good size, the door/walls are very thin and you can hear everything out in the hallway. The floors are also very loud so even though the other guests weren't being excessively loud, you could hear everything. One of the staff was talking with someone (not sure if it was a guest, friend or other hostel staff) around 1 AM and they were SO LOUD. The room was also super hot but had an AC unit that you could use for a 10 euro deposit. When I went out to get the remote for it I was able to ask the if they could be a little quieter and closed a door (that was supposed to be closed per the sign on the door) so the noise improved.
Great location, awesome and friendly staff, very clean place.
The bunk bed was somewhat uncomfortable for my back and also quite squeaky when getting in/out.
Great location. Walking distance to all bars and restaurant.
The staff was nice but had no maps of Lisboa. Noisy location but that comes of being in the center.
Hostel was very clean, room and bathrooms. Good price plus breakfast included. The location of the hostel is excellent. Really close to metro stop and train stations. Staff is really nice and helpful.
A little disadentage - you cannot change the temperature in the shower.
Staff is kind and helpful. Was a big room. Lockers are huge, you can probably put all your stuff ( backpack) in it. Air Condition in room (didn't work at third night). Free Breakfast (1 slice of ...
I stayed there for 3 nights. I was in a 6 Bed-Mix- Dorm with Bunk beds. Had two different lower beds and both of them were pretty uncomfortable.
Location and stuff.
My snoring neighbor :(
Great friendly staff, good breakfast, good location, quiet at night, not a party place.
Cleanliness. The men’s bathroom smelled and was awful. Dirty towels were clearly there for days. Rooms were not particularly clean either with a lot of dust under the bed. Hairs under the main cover ...
Hi. It was very good experience to stay in hostel. Very friendly personal always help with any question. Good breakfast! Excellent location in historical center, very close to the metro station. ...
It's noisy outside almost every night, so, if you are a light sleeper, this variant in not good for you.
The location was great. Room are well equipped and arranged. Staff really nice and helpful.
They could provide more sockets coz if you’re on the top bed you can charge your phone during night.
Clean rooms, comfortable living room, friendly stuff.
Breakfast could be little more. Bad/no Wifi connection in some rooms.
Location is perfect. Bed was soft and clean. Living room is spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast is very limited. A/C in common area was always off, which is annoying because I took this hostel for the A/C. Very loud restaurant outside until very late at night and construction ...
The staff was super friendly and the space was welcoming! I would stay again.
Only trouble I had at this hostel, otherwise was a wonderful stay!! My friend had a grandparent pass the week before we arrived and he notified me immediately that he couldn't come as her ...
Good atmosphere, nice staff.
Copieux
