Not same as photos, old broken TV uncomfortable bed noisey AC, first room they showed us had postage stamp window & they charged for bottles of water
Great location right on the beginning of the walking street.
The beds are really not comfortable. The shower is quite dirty
The hotel is well situated near the lake and the temples. It's just at the entrance of the night market starting around 17h30, with its shops and food sellers/street restaurants. It's nice to walk there and eat. Don't forget to release your little hot-air balloon nearby the temple!
A word of caution with the bottles of water in the room. There are two sets : one is in plastic and the other is glass bottles. Of course you drink the plastic, thinking this is the free one but.... no. The free ones are the glass bottles. Make money easy for the hotel because I believe that a lot of customers, when arriving, of course think the "normal way"...
Cleanliness and maintenance No elevator, grandparents had a bit hard times going up to the 3rd floor
Very close to the lake. The lady at reception was very friendly. Parking space on site.
The room was heavily overpriced. We paid 1,800 baht for what should have been 800 baht at the most. I live in Thailand so I am familiar with what prices should be like. Based on the reviews and photos I was expecting more. The room is old and worn, bed is hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom has a shower that goes all over the floor and toilet so everything gets wet. The restaurant area has no character at all, so even though breakfast was free we opted to eat outside. Not even filter coffee at breakfast, only instant. At this price I would also expect a hair dryer in the room, a kettle with free tea and coffee., and a proper duvet rather than a thin blanket wrapped in bed sheets. Rooms that are much cheaper than this Mae Hong Son offer much nicer facilities from my past experience.
