Everything it was awesome as it always is
Exceptional hotel with beautiful facilities and excellent location
There was a broad range of options available for breakfast, including the best and most creamy scrambled eggs ever! Beautiful range of fresh fruit and a whole section with Asian breakfast specialities.
I was really happy with everything. Every staff member I dealt with was delightful and nothing was a trouble.
Clean rooms with very comfortable beds and pillows. Fantastic view from our room and staff as always friendly and help where they can.
Check in took longer than expected and we waited nearly an hour..... they said it was because of school holidays.....However given the price per night it should be a priority to be able to check in at said time. Also the pool could be a touch warmer.
The room I ended up in was nice. Gym was good.
I paid for two nights as I was arriving at 6am from London, but was only staying one. They didn’t ask me if I smoked but put me on the 18th Floor which was a ‘smoking floor’ and absolutely stank of smoke from the moment I got out of the lift and got worse in the room I was given. I tried to ignore it and started unpacking but the smell was so bad my eyes were actually hurting. Called downstairs and they didn’t have a room I could move to (in this large hotel) but after some negotiation they found something. I then had to wait a further hour for that room to be ready. The new room I moved to was a suite on the 11th floor which was lovely, but... when I got in the shower I noticed that someone had previously stuck an Elastoplast (used) on the shower head. I’ve stayed before and loved it, but they forgot that I had.
