Pros: A STUNNING hotel in a beautiful part of France. It was clean, rooms were huge and bathroom was huge too. It’s just beautiful, and facilities were excellent. The couple who run this hotel are so lovely, helpful and went the extra mile in every way. It doesn’t surprise me it’s so busy but I hope to go back ASAP. A truly wonderful place. 5* in my opinion!
Pros: We had an excellent stay at Les Bourdeaux; the place is beautiful, it's conveniently located thereby offering plenty of possibilities for trips (to the various weekly markets in the area or ancient castles, or one can hike through the countryside) and both hosts did the utmost to turn our holiday into a succes (ranging from serving tasty breakfasts to providing smart excursion advice). We stayed two full weeks at the accommodation yet felt sorry to leave.
Pros: Beautiful location overlooking the valley. Nice swimming pool. Nice country setting. Large room and bathroom.
Pros: All of it.
Pros: Lovely property and Jaqueline was very friendly, super helpful and approachable
Cons: This isn’t a complaint as the property and facilities were great. We are quite tall and the beds were small but we have this problem in most venues.
Pros: Jacqueline was an excellent host. The double room with terrace was more than what we expected. So much space. Such a peaceful location. And the summer kitchen is ideal to sort out your snack fix!
Cons: Nothing- we will be back again
Pros: We loved the remoteness of the location, the spaciousness of the room and adjoining bathroom, the fact that it was almost on the ground floor with its own access to a terrace, the lovely swimming pool and the helpfulness and charm of our hosts, Rob and Jacqueline, two Dutch people with impeccable English. We were also grateful that the hosts kindly allowed us to bring friends to share the swimming pool once afternoon, which was a treat as they have a town house in Montflanflanquin and on a hot day were grateful to be able to swim. It was particularly nice to have only 2 other rooms, both occupied during our 4 nights, as the place was quiet and as I am in poor health it was possible to relax and enjoy the calm.
Cons: It would be nit picking to comment but the shower was rather disappointing. It was in a huge curved cubicle but with a very small shower head (perhaps to conserve water?) and did not angle very satisfactorily. We are used to a rain forest shower head at home and getting our whole bodies drenched and in such a large space it seems a missed opportunity not to have something similar or even one of the smart showers which spray onto the body from the side as well as from above. The continental breakfast provided each morning was charming and very smilingly served but we would have appreciated some mueseli or granola as an aid to digestion as well as croissant and bread, and should have remembered to bring our own. The vast bathroom was big enough to accommodate a bath too which we enjoy, but I know that only providing a shower is becoming more usual.
Pros: Fantastic host. Fantastic breakfast. Fantastic experience. The only fault was that there was no heater in the room and got a bit cold.
Cons: Not being able to stay longer
Pros: Owners where so lovely. Views pretty.
Pros: A fantastic, relaxing place to stay. Room were big, comfortable and spotless. Pool was great and views amazing. The owners Rob and Jacque were lovely and provided an excellent breakfast each day.
Located in Monflanquin, Résidence Lac Mondésir is a 1-minute drive from Lake Coulon and 5 minutes from Place des Arcades. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Swimming Pool, Location, Facilities.
Cons: I was disappointed that there wasn't an actual bed but two sofas that made up into a bed. They were very comfortable though.
Pros: The pool was great and the location in Monflanquin was really good. Beautiful surroundings. The kids loved it.
Cons: Apartment not big enough for 3 adults and 2 kids. As 1 family not too much trouble but if friends may be not. Going during the heatwave meant the rooms were very hot. A fan or ac would be a great addition. A small welcome pack with dishwasher tablets for the length of your stay and maybe a washing up cloth and some washing up liquid would be a great addition as having to buy in huge volume that you then have no room to take home seems very wasteful.
Pros: The location of the room was excellent. ( in the shadow by hot wearther) and in front of the swimming pool. Also the village was in the center of the Dordogne.
Cons: Tv only French spoken!
Pros: Crossiants amazing. Swimming pool for my grandchildren very good. Accommodation very clean.
Cons: Beds were not particularly comfortable and the pillows needed changing.
Pros: swimming pool , the flat was well organised and clean
Pros: It overlooked the lake
Cons: Not enough bed linen
Pros: It is a big Residence, very nice, rather new with big and clean swimming pool. I think in the summer it is over crowded, in October it was very calm.
Cons: Very narrow (75 cm) sofa-beds, not comfortable to sleep. Pillows are also not really comfortable. No hair dryer. No kitchen towels and dishwashing liquid.
Pros: Clean and comfy place, quiet but good pool to occupy 12 and 17 year old. Nearby good supermarket, but few restaurant options.
Pros: Good location for Monflanquin/local shops. The pool was lovely.
Cons: We weren’t told that you had to pre-order bread/croissants from reception the day before you wanted them. No double bed in our room which wasn’t a problem for us but something to be aware of. Had to bring our own bed linen and towels which considerably added to the weight of our luggage. Had buy our own loo roll, washing up sponges/liquid as it’s not provided. Also no bath mat so we ended up using a spare pillow case which I slipped on and hurt my leg on the side of the bath.
Pros: everything. ticked all boxes. short stay in perfect location. supermarket round the corner as well as petrol station.
With a stay at La Bastide des Oliviers in Monflanquin, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Place des Arcades and Musee des Bastides.
Cons: Doesn't look like the photos. Wasn't a comfortable bed and was pricey considering what we were getting
Pros: Location very good. Excellent breakfast. The staff, very helpful and friendly.
Pros: I thoroughly recommend this hotel - the welcome and service were extremely efficient and friendly. The rooms were lovely, clean and very well equipped. The hotel was also quiet, and the beds were very comfortable and the rooms decorated to a high standard. The air conditioning worked very well and created a cool and calm oasis during the heatwave. The breakfast was really outstanding, with delicious fresh pastries and fabulous bread, preserves etc - all served with a smile and professionalism. I was traveling with my parents (pensioners), and they were very happy with the hotel too.
Cons: There was nothing that I didn't like about this hotel. We will definitely be back!
Pros: The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome
Cons: The pillows were a little flat
Pros: Maria is the making of this property, she is bright, cheerful and very helpful. Room and shower room was compact but adequate, clean and comfortable. Bedding & towels were nice, the pillows were a bit flat. We had room 3 which had magnificent views of the countryside. Plenty of free car parking nearby. Restaurant is very good. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Cons: Stairway is very shabby with very worn carpet.
Pros: Great breakfast. Good location in heart of town. Good welcome. Room is fine. Can eat in or out in the square up the hill.
Located in Monflanquin, Hôtel Monform is in a rural location, within a 15-minute walk of Lake Coulon and Place des Arcades. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: Tea-making facilities
Pros: Quietly situated, close enough to walk into Monflanquin (20/25 minutes) Good value for a B&B stay to explore the area. Very obliging staff in the hotel and cleaning ladies etc Reasonably priced wine and various food options. Good continental breakfast. Plenty of free parking and space round the chalets, relaxed atmosphere. Overlooks a pretty lake to walk round and red squirrels spotted.
Cons: A pity the swimming pool wasn’t in use at all (no water in it - municipal pool next door) No air conditioning in our chalet though some did have it. We asked for a fan which was willingly provided (very hot conditions) that helped.
Pros: Very friendly welcome. The accommodation was simple but comfortable and the location - being so near to Monflanquin and the lovely outdoor municipal swimming pool - was excellent. We will very likely be staying here again soon.
Pros: Great chalet, very clean, very nice, massive surprise to find the huge lake out the back, beautiful place
Cons: No kettle and tea and coffee in the room
Pros: Service very friendly and efficient
Pros: Worst hotel we have ever stayed in - staff grunted at us no welcome at all . Breakfast minimal not fresh . Plastic cover on beds . Swimming pool empty tired and dated needs closing down - why is hotel even on website it looks like a ghost town - towels thin, shower hose burnt our friend who also stayed with his wife. Last update must have been 30 years ago?
Cons: Hotel should not be advertised on your website - if you visit you will take it off. Tired dated very old - never stayed in such a basic hotel for what we paid . You rate it 4.7 out of 5 so misleading . No mirrors, hooks, pillows, tea/coffee facilities, needs closing down . Go there and stay a night to confirm our comments . We often book with your company but your review is misleading.
Pros: Staff really friendly, good wine! Rooms comfortable but basic.
Cons: Slightly isolated and restricted menu (but it was january!) in summer, probably totally different.
Pros: Functional, okay place to get your head down.
