Proximity to Montreal. It was a great and accessable neighbourhood.Very safe. good restaurants in area.
Stairs. Sauna didn't work, one exercise machine was down. That matters when you only have one of each.
The valet parking is particularly helpful, with car access privileges--this hotel is comfortable, and a great value
Staff helpful and friendly- professional- small room but adequate - close to the metro an restaurants breakfast included
Awesome: location, staff, price, room quality and amenities. Great hotel in a great city. I will be back!
Nice but some issues
Very pretty property, good location to downtown and metro, very good breakfast, very curtious and helpful staff, dog friendly ($17 CA per night fee). Parking is $27 CA per night which is a bit steep, but I found a much cheaper option about 0.2-0.3 miles away at indigo parking garage (1250 rue guy). For our stay from Thursday to Sunday ended up paying $27 CA for all three nights. I believe they charge 13.50 M-F and $6 per day over weekend. It's fully automated with no personnel but was safe.
Experience differs from what floor you stay on. We started on the 2nd floor and the room was crazy small and the ac wasn't working right. We tried to sleep through it the first night but couldn't deal with how hot it was. Went to the front desk and they moved us to the main floor which had much much bigger rooms and a fully functioning ac flow. Heard other people complaining about the dampness in the basement rooms and that all there stuff felt wet all the time. It's a old property and need some serious HVAC work for the summer months. Cleaning staff was talking a bit loud in the mornings which woke us up. Room have well insulated walls but thin doors.
Lack of restaurants and shops in area.... NOT valet parking..... Self pay parking in nearby university pay lot
Charming hotel in excellent district
The atmosphere is elegant and graceful, very like small Parisian hotels. Staff are friendly and helpful, always smiling, and will good knowledge of the neighbourhood. The breakfast service is efficient and the food, especially the pastries, is excellent. There's a comfortably unhurried feel about the whole hotel, so that it's a pleasure to return after a tiring day of touring. It was a perfectly delightful stay.
The many stairs at the entrance and to rooms on upper floors may be daunting to older or infirm guests. An elevator would be an asset, but it's hard to determine where it could go. The double rooms with a single double bed are small, though comfortable. The size of the bed is detailed in the room description, so visitors shouldn't complain.
Great location. Building has a huge potential, just needs some care. Breakfast is fair. Would be good if they had espresso. - Drip coffee is not my thing. :D
Thermostat didn't work in the room. Bathroom heater had to warm up the room. Bathroom: shower worked poorly (faucet of the bath/shower). Very ugly repair work in the bathroom with pipes visible. But what bothered me the most: when arriving at the hotel at 11:30pm I find a note at the reception desk "will be back in 5 min", but in fact waited between 20 min and half an hour until I was able to check in. I mean, really?
Quaint and cozy..
Chateau Versailles is in a good location, close to several museums, Mont Royal and withing walking distance of several boutiques and shops. It is near the upscale portion of town and not too far from the Vieux-Ville, close to the Metro. Clean, quiet and with a stately entry and an accommodating staff. Good selection of breakfast foods and beverages.
The decor of the rooms and common places is rather dated and could be upgraded. It hints 1980 decor linger but is clean and kept up, new carpet throughout would be advised.
Breakfast hall and the breakfast.

The Staff and the location were good, but the quality and upkeep of the room left much to be desired. We had to ask to have a light put into the fixture above the bathtub, have the lock on the door fixed so that we could lock it, and have the toilet secured to the floor as it moved about. There is no fan in the bathroom, thus the mirror steamed up when the bath was used. The carpet was stained and old and the upholstery on the arm chair was frayed. For three days a used coffee cup and saucer sat ourside our room (it was not ours) on a bureau in the hall. The breakfast bar was okay, but the last morning it lacked both bagels and yogurt. When we booked the room we were not told that it was a "standard" room. This is what the staff told us when we asked for a better room. Frankly, the upgrade was exactly the same except that it had a fireplace. The Chateau Versailles was listed as a four star hotel. We would say that it was definately not!
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good proximity to museums
With a stay at Chateau Versailles, you'll be centrally located in Montreal, within a 5-minute walk of Sainte-Catherine Street and Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Featured amenities include a business center, limo/town car service, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
